Hey guys,
Saturday came early this week somehow. Time flew by, and I ended up writing less than I had intended to. However, I definitely don't want to miss my Saturday Savers Post.
I'm sure most of you are familiar with @hivebuzz and the website https://hivebuzz.me/. You can analyze your account, admire the badges you've earned, and most importantly, set new goals for yourself.
I often check it out whenever I come across Hivebuzz in my comments, notifying me about a new badge I've earned.
The day before yesterday, it happened again. I had unknowingly written my 80th post.
Nothing monumental, but still a reason to feel a little proud and stroke my own ego. I headed over to Hivebuzz.me to check out new goals, I could set for myself.
While doing so, I noticed something that I should have realized much earlier. I am no longer a Red Fish. Yay! The fish icon suddenly wasn't red anymore, but blue, and a different avatar greeted me. I have reached the Minnow status, like many others before.
I don't know the exact date, unfortunately. Anyway, I started searching for the approximate point at which one transitions from Red Fish to Minnow.
Hivebuzz has an account page and a complete ranking of all Hive users in the top right corner, sortable by various criteria — an incredibly helpful table.
I set the table to sort for HP and started going through all the pages, keeping my eyes fixed on the icons, and waiting for the color to change.
I couldn't find the exact HP amount at which the respective transitions occur.
In the images below, you can see where the switch should approximately be located between the respective users.
Red Fish to Minnow-Status
Somewhere in the range of 564 HP, you transition from being a Red Fish to becoming a Minnow.
Minnow to Dolphin-Status
To become a Dolphin, you need to accumulate between 5645 and 5657 HP. It's interesting to note that so far, only 1999 Hive users have managed to reach this status. This club is obviously more exclusive than the previous two.
After revisiting the individual milestones, my intermediate goal for sometime in 2024 has now crystallized.
Dolphin to Orca-Status
Being a Dolphin is certainly a great feeling, but Orcas have nothing to fear in the ocean (except maybe us) and are always on the hunt for new prey. To achieve the status of Orca on Hive and embark on a hunting expedition in our ecosystem, one needs to have between 56459 and 56545 Hive Power.
While it may remain out of reach for most or at least unlikely in the medium term, 296 users are proof that it is possible to achieve this goal with long-term commitment and HODLing. The most recent user to achieve this status is @katharsisdrill, but by the time this article is submitted, @felt.buzz will most likely have scraped together the last HP needed to make the upgrade to Orca status.
Orca to Whale-Status
For those who find Orcas impressive, should embark on a whale-watching tour.
Here on Hive, being a whale means being among the top 35 accounts that all possess well over 500,000 Hive Power.
To be more precise, one needs to have between 560,782 and 594,643 Hive Power. Unfortunately, there is a significant gap to certainty here, as there is a difference of 34,000 Hive Power between @yabapmatt and @lazy-panda. However, anyone who has accumulated more than half a million HP will not hesitate to take the final step towards becoming a whale.
My Self-Assessment
When looking at the individual milestones and recognizing account names with whom I have interacted or whose articles I enjoy reading, a sense of belonging arises, along with a tinge of envy, as I naturally wonder why I am not among the top names on the leaderboard.
„Well, because you are too lazy and inconsistent, Freedomprepper. That is why.“
To see where I stand, I would have had to click very far down, so I made it easier for myself by simply entering my name in the search bar.
Reputation
My reputation is not very impressive. I am just shy of 64 and thus narrowly missed the top 9000. My 80 articles have been insufficient so far to secure me a better spot, and considering that I have been registered with Hive for almost two years (although I haven't earned the 2-year badge yet, but it shouldn't be much longer), I could have written much more. But enough with the self-abasement. Time to be better.
HP
The HP ranking looks slightly better but still not impressive. I'm at rank 7238 with 1017 HP. Even here, I could have been much further ahead.
My gaming investments alone in recent years could have probably brought me to the 30k Hive threshold. However, I believe that these investments could pay off in a bull market, so I'm not too sad about it.
This Weeks Progress
Hive Power
My Hive Power has increased quite well. One reason is that I decided to include my Actifit account, Halbtagsdichter, in the calculation. Although it doesn't bring me much with its few Actifit reports and occasional Freewrite prompt articles, it should be included in the savings plan. After all, Halbtagsdichter's articles don't write themselves :o).
With 49 HP from Halbtagsdichter and the rounded-up 1020 HP from Freedomprepper, I accumulated 80 HP this week.
It's a nice progress, especially since there are still some liquid Hive on both accounts, which I plan to stake on Hive Power Up Day.
Additionally, there is a pending conversion of HBD waiting to be completed.
I still need 1431 HP to reach my goal of 2500.
LEO
There is not much to say on teh LEO fron. There was no planned purchase of LEO this week, and the article on LEOFINANCE didn't generate any LEO rewards. I'm a bit confused about this community; I remember reading that they only distribute upvotes under certain circumstances, but I can't recall the specifics. It's time to delve deeper into LEO again.
The 15 LEO from last week remain unchanged. I still need 985 tokens to reach my goal.
ALIVE
I was able to increase my holdings of Alive tokens this week. I received 2 Alive tokens through delegating my 78 tokens, and I purchased nearly 19 Alive on the market.
As a result, the total quantity has increased to 99.8 Alive . I'll round it up to 100 tokens :o)
I still need 900 tokens to reach my goal.
With that, I've reached the end of my weekly report. I hope it wasn't too dry and lengthy of a read.
How about you? Did you achieve your savings goals this week? If not, remember that there's always next week :o).
Wishing you a lovely weekend!
