Should we tell the vitals (pulse, BP, temperature) findings to the patients or not?

Assalamu Alaikum! How are you? I am hoping that you are fine. I am fine as well, Alhamdulillah. Welcome to my post. It is my Alive Video on Wednesday the 7th of September 2022. It is #iamalivechallenge post number 442!

"Breaking bad news" to the patient is something that needs to be handled very carefully. In some higher examinations, there is a station to check the student's (doctor's) skills in breaking bad news to a patient. But, telling a patient about some simple deviations from the normalcy of the vitals, is not like telling a patient that you are having cancer. However, again, some people are too sensitive to hear that the BP is 90/60 mmHg, instead of the normal 120/80 mmHg!

Regarding this issue, should we (the doctor) write the abnormal vitals in the patient's fine but tell him/her verbally that "Everything is Ok"?

Please watch the short video where I have talked about this. Please let me know what you think about it.

Thank you!

I'd like to hear the honestly bad news, but not all people are that tough. There could really be a problem). !LOLZ

Yes. Some people are too sensitive to hear bad news. They may create a scene if we can not read them before revealing the info.

I can't imagine what it's like to report bad news to a patient. It must be difficult at times.

Yes. It is not an easy task at all. It's a sophisticated issue.

Breaking a bad news to a person most times requires tact and craftiness. Look at the patient and see if he/she can withstand the bad to be delivered

Yes. Brother.

It takes courage to handle bad news.
It really amaze me how doctors break these bad news to patients.
No matter what I think telling the patient how it is and not saying everything is fine is the best thing to do.
What is done cannot be undone.

I agree with you.

Or, thank you for agreeing with me :)
