I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 5 years now. Since I discovered Hive 3.25 years ago, I've gotten really into investing, like a lot, and this passion for leveraging, generating, and growing assets, has moved to the top of my list of favorite activities. It's a fun challenge for me. I have of course noticed that this is not the case for most people, even for most people on Hive, with the domain of crypto investing seemingly appearing perhaps complex, difficult, and hard to understand. This is where I often find myself assisting people, offering ideas and suggestions, as well as in-depth explanations of things that they don't yet understand. This is why I'm now considering beginning a new regular blog-post series on Hive investing, and leveraging, generating, and growing assets.
This idea has been suggested to me multiple times now by Hivers that appreciate the detailed and comprehensive approach to my token juggling fun. Yes, I talk about this here in these daily posts, but that's mostly about my own plans, process, and experiences, so I definitely think that this new blog series might indeed be much appreciated by many people in the community. I imagine that it would be on a weekly cadence, though I don't yet know when I might begin it, with time being the main limiting factor. Where there's a will, there's a way, however.
Each week I could focus on various often-not-well-understood aspects of investing in Hive's layer 1, and especially layer 2, with explanations, walk-throughs, tutorials, suggestions, and tips that I've found helpful. I'd also be open to ideas from the community on what people would like me to discuss, though I haven't gotten to everything yet, and I obviously can't discuss in any depth things in which I don't yet have experience. I've learned a great deal in my time here, however, which I'm happy to share with my fellow Hivers.
While I'm always exploring new investment opportunities, and ways to utilize assets, in these new posts I'll mostly be sharing what I've learned from personal experience, as I think that this is the most valuable information for the community. I'll put some thought into a name for the series, and a cover image, and also in which community I'd publish it. Well see what comes of it!
Yesterday was HPUD in my time zone, and as I've been doing every month for more than a year now, I powered up the HIVE that I'd been saving all month for that purpose, and then I wrote and published my post about it, February HPUD - Hive Power Up Day - 44.9 HIVE Powered Up!. With the 44.9 HIVE that I powered up, I'm on track to reach 8,800 Hive Power either today or tomorrow. This is pretty sweet, because I only just past 8,700 HP last week. That's one of the beauties of HPUD week, to which I always look forward. After that, I'll only have 200 HP to go until I attain 9,000 HP, so it will come quite quickly. I'm ready!
Yesterday, Friday, I left the Flow House, once I had finished my Hive tasks, a bit late, around 2:45PM, putting my attention on some photography for these posts, even though the weather was far from ideal (rainy and cloudy). With that, and a few other small community tasks done, I got my machete and collected a wheelbarrow full of assorted edible foliage for cow-milking food (thankfully it didn't rain on me). When I finished that, I passed by the Landing to make myself some food (ground beef, eggs, onions, tomatoes, salsa, and sea salt), and to collect my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge, before heading back to the Flow House to write and publish my HPUD post, to get to my evening Hive tasks, and to catch up on my notifications. I got everything done by around 11PM, and after some token management, and a scan of my X feed, I went to bed just after 11:30PM. I woke up first to the generator running around 4:30AM, and while awake I got a few recurring on and off-chain tasks done, then I made another attempt at sleep. I woke again just before 7:15AM, feeling way more rested, doing more token management, beginning on this post, then getting out of bed around 8AM to go make my superfood fire coffee, and to milk Daisy with Jo. As soon as I was done with milking, I returned to the Flow House to write this post. It's now just after 12:45PM, so a marvelous time to end this daily journal entry, so that I may get to my other few important Hive tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to first focus on some photography for these posts, as well as for my entry in the Reflection Hunters Contest, then straining and blending kefir (kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao), and finally community/land work. I deeply appreciate y'all so very much! Until my entry for the Reflection Hunters Contest later this evening, and the next version of this post tomorrow! 2025 Life Goals
1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.
2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.
4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
