A friendly greeting dear Hivers. I'm over here to share with you an amazing ride that my dear @jetta.amaya and I did yesterday. Since December 1st, 2023 when we bought our bike we haven't stopped riding. At first it was scary because neither of us had ever ridden a motorcycle before, but in a few days we got the hang of it and since then we haven't stopped.
This time we went to visit the restaurant El Huerto, located in Tariba, Tachira state. This place is very particular because they only sell cakes. This is a typical dish of our region that consists of a wheat flour dough filled and fried. These Andean pastries are sold almost everywhere, but the ones from El Huerto are very special for me, since I grew up in Tariba and all my childhood is marked by El Huerto where we always went to eat with the family, because besides being the best pastries in the state, the owner family had a long history of friendship with my mother's family.
From where we live to Tariba is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. It could be less depending on the traffic in the city. But the road between our small town and the city is really quiet and easy to drive on. Some people are afraid of it because it is a road with a lot of heavy traffic and admittedly some parts are not in good condition, but I have traveled it all my life and it is so familiar that I have no problem riding a motorcycle on this route.
The scenery is beautiful and definitely riding a motorcycle is a wonderful thing. The air is always hitting you and you literally feel part of the scenery and the ride. Before the motorcycle we were traveling by car and the experience is completely different. I wanted to post in this community because there is nothing better than a motorcycle ride. Literally the adventure starts from the moment you turn on the bike.
After an hour and so much riding we arrived in Tariba and walked a little around the square. But we were hungry because riding a motorcycle makes you want to eat a lot. So we went quickly to El Huerto. To our surprise they were not accepting cards because there were problems with the electricity and the system, which is not uncommon in Venezuela. So as we were carrying little cash we just ordered two pastries for each of us.
We enjoyed the food very much, even though we would have liked to eat much more. While we were there, the owner of the place, Luis Gandica, a legend for those who were born and raised in Tariba, walked in. So we didn't miss the opportunity to take a picture with him. Everyone was very nice at the place, after lunch we just rode back home on our steel horse.
At another time it would have been frustrating to arrive at El Huerto after a long trip and not be able to eat everything we wanted. But on a motorcycle there is no such frustration, riding on the road is in itself a ride, an adventure, an enjoyable experience in its entirety. So we returned quietly enjoying the scenery, hoping to return soon to Tariba.

Paseo en moto hasta Tariba. Aventura en dos ruedas (Ingles/Español)
Un saludo amistoso queridos Hivers. Estoy por acá para compartirles un increíble paseo que hicimos el día de ayer mi querida @jetta.amaya y yo. Desde el primero de diciembre del 2023 cuando compramos nuestra moto no hemos parado de rodar. Al inicio nos dio miedo porque ninguna de las dos había conducido antes una motocicleta, pero en pocos días le agarramos el truco y desde entonces no hemos parado.
Esta vez fuimos de visita al restauran El Huerto, ubicado en Tariba estado Táchira. Este lugar es muy particular porque solo venden pasteles. Este es un plato típico de nuestra región que consiste en una maza de harina de trigo rellena y frita. Estos pastelitos andinos se vende prácticamente en todos lados, pero los de El Huerto son muy especiales para mí, ya que me crie en Tariba y toda mi infancia está marcada por El Huerto donde siempre íbamos a comer en familia, ya que además de ser los mejores pasteles del estado, la familia propietaria tenía una larga historia de amistad con las familia de mi madre.
Desde donde vivimos hasta Tariba son aproximadamente 1 hora y 20 minutos. Podría ser menos dependiendo del tráfico en la ciudad. Pero la carretera entre nuestra pequeña localidad y la ciudad es realmente tranquila y fácil de transitar. Algunas personas le tienen miedo ya que es una vía en la que circula mucho tráfico pesado y hay que reconocer que algunas partes no están en buen estado, pero yo la he transitado toda mi vida y es tan familiar que no me genera ningún problema rodar en moto por esta ruta.
El paisaje es bello y definitivamente rodar en moto es algo maravilloso. El aire siempre te está golpeando y literalmente te sientes parte del paisaje y del paseo. Antes de la moto viajábamos en carro y la experiencia es completamente distinta. He querido publicar en esta comunidad porque no hay nada mejor que un paseo en moto. Literalmente la aventura comienza desde que enciendes la moto.
Después de una hora y tanto de rodar llegamos a Tariba y caminamos un poco alrededor de la plaza. Pero teníamos hambre porque rodar en moto da muchas ganas de comer. Así que nos fuimos rápido a El Huerto. Para nuestra sorpresa no estaban aceptando tarjeta porque había problemas con la electricidad y el sistema, cosa que no es rara en Venezuela. Así que como cargábamos poco efectivo solo pedimos dos pastelitos para cada una.
Disfrutamos mucho de la comida, a pesar de que nos habría gustado comer mucho más. Estando allí entro el propietario del lugar, Luis Gandica, una leyenda para los que nacieron y crecieron en Tariba. Así que no perdimos la oportunidad de sacarnos una foto con él. Todos fueron muy amables en el lugar, luego de comer simplemente regresamos a casa en nuestro caballo de acero.
En otro momento habría sido frustrante llegar a El Huerto después de un largo viaje y no poder comer todo lo que queríamos. Pero en moto no hay tal frustración, rodar por la carretera es en sí mismo un paseo, una aventura una experiencia disfrutable en su totalidad. Así que regresamos tranquilas disfrutando del paisaje, esperando regresar pronto a Tariba.
