This is a post to go with #WednesdayWalk challenge by @tattoodjay.
Autumn is approaching its equator. A warm September has already become history and a cold rainy October has begun. Everything happened very abruptly. On Sunday afternoon, the Sun pleased us with its warmth, but signs of a change in the weather started to appear. On Monday morning, it turned out that the North Wind began to rule the weather at night, the Sun disappeared behind a cloudy veil, and the rain decided to please with its presence. Why do I say we should be happy about the rain? Because it hasn't rained since mid-August. The water level in the river is below the lower historical mark. Rains are needed to fill the soil with moisture.
Foliage fell abundantly from the trees, and the footpaths became multicolored. Can you see a girl picking up a bouquet of colorful maple leaves on the right side of the column? The wind and negative night temperatures contribute to the denudation of trees. I think that in a week all the foliage will be on the ground.
In previous years, all the foliage was collected in heaps and burned. The smell of burnt leaves spread through the city. It was one of the autumn signs. But I don't remember for a long time, probably 30 years, that the wipers burned the foliage. In Soviet times, there was even a song with the words "The leaves are burned in September, like the last fireworks, the leaves are burned in vain." I liked that song. It was a song of my youth.
Ashberry. Public utilities are actively planting these trees on the streets of our city. The double benefits are beautiful and bird food.
Autumn adds work to the janitors, you need to remove the leaves from the sidewalk.
Yes, today was also a significant event - the first snow of this season began. My friends took photos from my town, where snow really covered the whole earth, but in Kirov, I saw only fluttering snowflakes.
Of course, the snow has already melted. But it still turned out to be interesting. It snowed heavily only in my hometown, which is 35 km from Kirov. I'm going home tomorrow morning.
Winter will come in its own time. In early November, snow will cover the whole earth like a blanket. In the meantime, I'll take a walk around the autumn city. Only I gave my camera for repair. It is sad.
Friends, goodbye! Until the next walk.
Well. I wish all my friends, observers, and readers wonderful walks on Wednesdays. And also on Sundays and any other day!
