Hello, hivers! What's up?
I've been inactive for almost a month and can't catch up for whatever is happening right now in the Hive ecosystem but let me start from posting another blog today anyway. Holidays are around the corner and the entire December is critical working days for us at work. I focused on my job first and my final exams at college, that's why I haven't been here for a while. But since, it's the start of another semestral break, then at least I can spare some time in here.
Let me start by posting an entry for the #WednesdayWalk which is an initiative of Sir @tattoodjay.
It's a cold morning with drizzles of rain from time to time and gloomy skies that haven't been cleared up for days now.
December means cold season, so keep yourselves warm right there! 🤗
Anyway, as we were walking at the back of the residence to take a shortcut going to the old airport's runway, I have noticed this facility. It's the Home For the Aged, I didn't know it was located there until now. I'm not sure if there's still a lot of elderly people residing in there but I dearly hope that they're well taken care of, especially these holidays. I hope they receive gifts or some could have at least extended warm greetings to them so they wouldn't feel abandoned in that shelter.
It just took us for a few turns and crossing a big puddle of water in the middle of the road caused by the heavy rains. Then, we're here!
A lot of barricades were placed in the middle of the runway. They restricting access for visitors. It is said that SM Mall Corp have bought half of the property and will be constructing one of their branches here. I didn't see any undergoing construction in the place as of the moment, but maybe they'll start that next year.
Aside from people who are regular joggers and those who practice driving, there are dogs and cows also wherein a regular residence of the place. This is a wide space for them to play and no danger unlike the crowded and busy city. Gladly, they don't chase nor bite. They don't bother people and just wanna lay flat on the runway.
I seldom go here and to my surprise, there are stationed Cafe in here serving local native coffee, soup, meals and snacks. There was even an evident used target boards in roadside that which means someone have been using this place as a firing range previously. Even if this is an abandoned place which is now only the ruins of the old airport here, many people still visits here to unwind, exercise, practice driving and go fishing. That's why business thrives around here.
The walk wouldn't be complete if we couldn't reach the shore where this runway ends. There's a bushy part in here going there and most of it was withered from the previous drought, also some portion experienced bush fires and we could even see the ashes on the ground.
And so... this is end of that runway now. It's a rocky barrier from the sea. During this day, the waves wasn't that harsh. I could see Fishermen setting up their fishing nets and some fishing boats at the distance. I thought there wouldn't much people in here but they're just scattered sitting in the rocks waiting for a catch early in the morning.
We stayed for a while to refreshed and decided to go home around 9am because the rain is about to fall.
