Hey there, fellow adventurers!
Are you ready to embark on a side-splitting Wednesday walk around the legendary Schloss Moritzburg? Buckle up, because we're about to take a comical journey through one of Germany's most magnificent castles!
I did this funny tour with a tour guide last year and everytime I come back to this place I have to laugh :)
A Quick History Lesson
Picture this: it's the 16th century, and Duke Moritz of Saxony decides he needs a swanky summer hangout. Cue the construction of Schloss Moritzburg! Legend has it, the Duke wanted a place to chill after a hard day of hunting wild boar. So, he built this fancy castle with all the bells and whistles. Talk about living the high life!
Inside the Castle: Where Laughter Reigns Supreme
As we step inside the castle, prepare to be dazzled by its extravagant interior. Think: chandeliers bigger than your grandma's houseplant collection, paintings so fancy they make Mona Lisa blush, and furniture that's probably too fancy to sit on. You might even spot a ghost or two (just kidding... or are we?).
Garden Galore: Where Greenery Meets Giggles
Next up, the gardens! These aren't your grandma's flower beds – oh no. We're talking topiaries shaped like unicorns, ponds filled with rubber duckies, and a maze that's more confusing than your uncle's jokes at Thanksgiving dinner. Take a stroll and try not to get lost – or laugh too hard!
Okay, the story is very exaggerated, but it brings some life into the sometimes very dusty history of such a castle. Did you know that the film "Three Wishes for Cinderella" was shot here? The German-Czech version. Cinderella's shoe is still outside on the stairs, you can try it on! Unfortunately, it doesn't fit me 😞
