The following are just a few photos that I took along the Big Gunpowder Trail. This trail is located at the Big Gunpowder Falls State Park in Baltimore County, Maryland at approximately 10092 Belair Road. This is also the trail that takes you out to the Pot Rocks area.
I have to say that I really lucked out on this particular walk because I just happened to catch some Bluebells in bloom. There were several areas that were blanketed by the colorful and delicate flowers.
Additionally, because the day started out cloudy there were very few people on the trail. The Spring scenery was fresh and beautiful.
This tree really stood out from some of the other trees. You can partially see it in my first photo as well. The tree stood tall and I don't know why some of the limbs on the tree appeared to be white but I think it made the tree stand out more with the striking contrast in color.
When I see a tree down I sometimes like to check out the roots and see the artful beauty in it. Just seeing the grain of the wood and how the moss grows on it. Eventually it will break down and return the the earth.
Here is the area that I photographed a couple of baby squirrels at.
I previously posted one of the baby squirrels in black and white. Here is that baby squirrel in color.
Pretty cute with a big bushy tail! They have a beautiful playground here in the Big Gunpowder Falls State Park.
That little squirrel stayed just long enough for me to catch a few photos before scurrying off which is probably a good cue for me to end my post.
I'll be posting other photos from this walk soon enough with lots more scenery and even a second baby squirrel! 💖
