A few more steps before the rain and snow

in #hive-15553011 days ago

When the leaves on the branches begin to lose their green color and turn yellow, when the mornings and nights become cold, and the days are shorter, it is clear that autumn has arrived.

There is a short period, at the end of October and the beginning of November, when the sun becomes warm again, when there are no clouds or rain, and the sun shines like in the middle of summer...
Then the popularly known "Miholjsko summer" (it was named so because of the proximity of the celebration Saint Michael, November 21).
I like to take every free moment during the Miholjsko summer, while the sun is at its zenith, for a walk.

So this Wednesday, I walked along the shore of the Belgrade lake and treated myself to an interesting treat in a cafe.

That's not really flattering, because this coffee with chocolate and a lot of whipped cream must have more calories than I spent in the #WednesdayWalk.

But what should I do? I love it 🙂
Because of this treat, I'm going to call this day a cheat day😀

Yes, autumn is here. The leaves turn beautiful shades of yellow, red and brown and while some leaves fall from the branches, the crowns are still dense.

The challenge of drinking or eating outdoors in the autlumn is that a few leaves may fall into our plate or cup of hot chocolate, but don't worry, it's all natural.

After enjoying the energy, caloric and sweet drink, we continue our walk, observing our fellow citizens who, as if summer is in progress, are sitting on the shore of the lake.

The wonderful days of the Miholjsko summer will probably end soon, when the sky, instead of the sun, will be covered by clouds from which the autumn rains will begin as a harbinger of winter, cooling and snow.

so beautiful I love the fall colors sad they come and go so quickly

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk

Have a good day

Hey, I didn't know that Miholjsko leto was called because of the proximity of the celebration of that saint. I mean, it sounds so logical but I have never thought about its name. Thanks for this info.

But what should I do?

Oh, you should send some to us too 😆

I would not send such a calorie bomb to my friend. Although he would appreciate it 😀

Because of the Julian and Gregorian calendars, and looking at the church calendar, I mixed everything up 🤔

I mixed up the dates, Saint Michael, which Catholics celebrate on September 29, and Orthodox Christians celebrate in November 🙂
And then I came across the name of the saint whom the Orthodox celebrate on October 12 (Saint Kiriak Ostelnik), when they celebrate the feast of Miholjdan, hence the name for this second, shorter summer.
I thought i knew but i was wrong 🙂

Now it all sounds more complicated with the names and dates. Let's keep it simple: enjoy that sun and warm autumn days until you can ;)

With such a delicacy and the sun in the sky, I forget my name, not the date of the church holiday 🙂

I forget my name

😂

Ok, let me help you, you are Dusko.
