When I woke up this morning and looked out the window, there was little to be seen.
As I approached the company where I work, the fog that descended on the plain did not promise a nice day and a pleasant walk.
And I had activities planned that included some serious walking…
It was very difficult to reach the destination in such thick fog, but knowing the roads certainly helped, I have been following the same route for many years.
After parking the car, I looked at a nearby warehouse, I barely recognized it in the fog.
Although, the sun slowly started to break through. maybe it will be sunny during the day 🙂
I accepted some supervision and could not leave the contractors to work independently.
While I was looking at the route with the contractors that they will dig to run the fiber optic cable, I thought of all my fellow IT professionals, how they can't imagine the flow of all the information they exchange with the systems.
All those zeros and ones, bits and bytes, pass through the cables for which it is necessary to carry out such earthworks, so that the systems they work on could work at all.
The only option without such works is satellite internet, but due to the price and signal propagation delay, it is unfavorable...
And so, it all starts deep in the land...
The contractor arrived, measured the route to be dug, started the digging machine and got to work.
While the workers were laying the pipes, filling the trench and marking it with "Caution" tape, I, along with a fellow engineer, walked through the complex where we looked at the complete route along which the fiber optic cable will be laid tomorrow.
Today's trench digging route is small compared to the complete route that will be used to pass the fiber optic cable tomorrow.
But even with that small route, a big job was completed today, because today is much more demanding than what awaits us tomorrow.
My only regret is that I didn't check that my pedometer was on during the day, because I walked a lot.
Tomorrow I will surely immortalize the walk with the number of steps, because I know that another walking day is coming, as a continuation of #wednesdaywalk
What I took today is for the archive of business documents, but it also goes here, as a check of the quality of photos during the day in conditions of reduced visibility but also on a beautiful sunny day from my new Samsung S24+ phone.
I've already started to get used to the fact that the day is shorter and everything is dark when I get home from work
