Hello friends !
This is my post for the #wednesdaywalk community, hosted by @tattoodjay.
It has been a rainy day today in Kent, and we are on the eve of the second big snowfall of the season; however, this rain did not stop me from taking my usual #wednesdaywalk. I walked around my neighborhood and then headed to downtown Kent.
The sidewalks are still covered by the snow, so I had to walk on the side of these deserted streets. As you can see, the snow does not look white and clean anymore. On the contrary, it looks muddy and slushy.
That beautiful doggie posed for a photo for you all!
I headed to downtown Kent, specifically to the Kent Historic Train Depot, built in 1875 when Marvin Kent was the president of the Atlantic & Great Western Railroad. This was the town's train station until 1970. This two-story building was restored in 1981 and since then it has housed restaurants and the office of the Kent Historical Society. Today, the building houses the Treno Ristorante.
Given Marvin Kent's efforts to acquire railroads for the city, this was renamed Kent in his honor.
