I read @jijisaurart post about her morning walk routine and thought I want to try it too and feel the fresh air in the morning.
I met a friend who visited my cousin's store near my home, we talked like we didn’t see each other for years hahaha well… she’s always busy since she’s a nurse.
Throughout the conversation, she mentioned that she does walking every morning and she climbs our mountain Musuan Peak/MT.KALAYO with her friends or sometimes alone,
I’m amazed she’s brave enough to walk in the mountain alone because that’s something I can’t do.
when I said I want to tag along, she immediately said we’d climb the next day
I woke up at 4:30 am to prepare and we will meet at 5 am, we rode a Motorela and our fare going to the mountain was 50 pesos ($1) for both of us,
The last time I climbed this mountain was way back in High school
we wrote our names in the logbook
The entrance fee ticket was 20 pesos,
To be honest, I’m scared to climb up, especially when it’s just the two of us, a lot of what ifs are on my mind, like what if something wrong will happen like the ones I saw in movies where some climbers are found dead, hahaha or there might be snakes!
I never shared my negatives thoughts with her though, but I was convincing myself that nothing bad will happen,
We already walked far from the entrance, and I looked back and was a bit scared, I was thinking some murderer or like the ones in the wrong turn is chasing us! T_T fucker I hate my mind for overthinking so much, I am not the best person to come with friends who asks for a mountain hike cause I walk with fear and I overthink a lot hahaha that's why I don’t like climbing, but I still took courage to do it this day. Face your fear they said but my anxiety went up throughout the hike! HAHAHA
I regret not wearing socks cause the rubbing motion in my feet hurts while I’m controlling not to slide down
we stopped to rest and took a picture of the view
look the moon is still visible, it’s so small ~
our province is called the city of a golden harvest because we are surrounded by rice fields
my friend said we are almost at the top
and while admiring the forests I got to see stations of the cross
and here's a guy who lives on this mountain going down with his motorbike, maybe he is off to work, it was a relief on my part to see other people around,
we are already at the top and saw a place to sit down and rest which has
peso wifi, I don’t know if it works though,
here’s a communication tower used for mobile networks ~
Cottages to sit on with anyone who wants to have a picnic date with friends and family.
Trees and flowers are well maintained here
An overview of our city that is still surrounded by lots of trees and mountains
and saw a cute cat, it keeps on meowing every time I meow too hahaha, it’s like we are talking to each other sadly I can’t understand hahaha bet this cat is one of the Gods that protect this mountain (like in the anime)
We didn’t stay for long, because we don’t want to experience the heat of the sun that’ll sting our skin, and while going down we encountered some new climbers too, we greeted each other good morning, it was the most heartwarming feeling, it’s like it’s already a norm to greet strangers who climb here, it nice to see people around ( feels like I haven’t been out in the house for so long ) so kinda a new feeling.
Going down, ain’t so tiring compared to climbing up,
I was surprised by my friend when she shouted out of the blue, I thought she saw a snake, but she laughed after realizing that she’s has someone for me to meet hahaha silly friend!
we waited for a multicab to commute home, the soldiers at the checkpoint were so nice for greeting both of us good morning and offered to drink coffee and bread with them, we just said thank you for their offer.
Finally got ourselves a multicab to ride on to go to the city, feels like we are VIPs for being the only ones around, hahaha
anyways, I was happy doing this activity, nice to come out in the house once in a while and do a walk.
here’s a beautiful picture i took of the mountain
This picture was taken year 2017 and i posted it on instagram, which reminds me of the time when i bought woods to make a canvas frame for my painting, it was late in the afternoon and so sunny the beauty of the mountain was mesmerizing to look at. Just sharing!
