Nature is not a place to visit. It is home.
~ Gary Snyder
Hello everyone!
Sharing with you another glimpse of the simple yet beautiful life I have in the countryside.
This is what I love about going home. Aside from devoting my time to my family, I can also get to keep myself in touch with mother nature again, particularly on an early morning walk.
The mesmerizing scenery of the coconut trees planted on both sides of the Baranggay road is simply relaxing. No tall buildings, no heavy traffic, and no people in a hurry. Just a beautiful view of pure green space that was giving me a full intake of peace and serenity.
And then I passed by this grassland. You can see in this green space the coconut trees which provide the locals copra (as their source of income) and of course, a refreshing coconut juice. This grassland is also used as animal pasture. It just so happened that I did not see a cow, a carabao, or a goat having a relaxing stay while grass munching when I passed by.
And then this tree, if I remember so well, has been here for decades. I could not vividly remember if it has been standing here for years or maybe because I was just not paying enough attention to these so many beauties around me when I was a child. It's just when I turned adult that I realized how much of these wonders I have taken for granted and God knows how much I appreciate it so much now. And more than ever, I am so much thankful for He allowed me to be born and raised in this haven embraced by mother nature's warm bosom of both the hill and sea. Yes, it's having the best of both worlds, I should say.
And look at these fruits!
This morning's walk allowed me to pause for a while and take a closer look at what nature has to offer. It's funny that it's the first time that I noticed that it bears fruit. It's a small round shape in red color. I don't know if this fruit is edible. With a closer look, its shape looks like a small fig fruit. I did not dare to take a single bite out of curiosity [Lol] so I just take the moment to take a lovely snap of it.
On my way home, another beautiful site caught my attention.
A grasshopper that's probably having rest on this flower, or probably having a delicious breakfast rather.
Truly, having a walk and appreciating nature's often taken-for-granted beauties have reminded me that it's always good to pause for a while from the pressures and anxiety of our fast-paced life, appreciate the moment and be reminded that I have this "paradise" I can always go home to.
