I feel like we don't actually get clouds that often in Southern California, so when we do they are a treat. It rains even less often in my area. We had had a fresh rain earlier in the day, so I was not expecting to see a giant, bright rainbow outside. When I did, I decided to make my walk all about the clouds. I walked around the neighborhood in the town near mine and then also in my neighborhood.
Can you believe that rainbow? It has no filter applied, just taken from my cell phone. If you look closely on the right, you will see the start of a double rainbow. I always think about two things when I see rainbows: Noah and leprechauns. Wouldn't it be grand if pots of gold were real?
Those clouds were just around the block, but in the other direction. I love how the light hits the clouds and changes the color. It makes me think of Divine things every time.
This is in my neighborhood now. It was getting closer to sunset, and I was hoping for some amazing sunset pics, but it was lacking in the pinks and purples that I adore. On the opposite side of the sky, we had dark cloudy skies.
At the bottom of one part of the neighborhood is this amazing staircase that is by a tree. There is a bench by the tree. For now, you can see amazing views. Unfortunately, a shopping center is going to be built, so they will be gone soon.
Here is the view from the sidewalk above the tree.
This last pic is from the next morning, but wanted to include it because it shows the gift from the rains: snow in our mountains.
I took that last pic on my morning run, and isn't it beautiful? Also, funny enough, notice there isn't a cloud in the sky.
