Today I want to share some more of my #adventures during our road trip in #scotland with you in the form of a walk to see a bit more of the large lake: ”LOCH NESS” ~ seen in FORT AUGUSTUS, SCOTLAND 🏴
As you know we were in part 5 of our journey in Drumnadrochit, which is close to LOCH NESS. So we went 😁 of course… on a drive down along the lake and stopped in Fort Augustus for a walk.
While most of the time I was on the road traveling for over 1 month… Along the way, we did visit some beautiful places when we stayed in the holiday accommodations.
You must think 💭 Loch Ness is where #NESSIE lives… yep she does 🦕🦕🦕 and we tried to find her.

Today’s selection will be of 12 photographs, where I take you along on a visit to walk around in Fort Augustus - and some views of Loch Ness.
It was a beautiful day 😊 with some stunning clouds ☁️
I visited this place on 15 January 2023.
The Photographs in this post are all taken with my iPhone 📱🤓 the ones taken with my CANON camera I show you another day with different parts of this town. Like the locks and the old bridge…
I will follow the time stamps on my photographs. So it looks like you are walking along with me on this #walk to the #lake, to 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 #discover everything, like the little #details seen through my eyes. 😊 Maybe we even see Nessie 🦕😉
Let me show you first the location on Google maps, see the yellow star ⭐️ :
We will walk from the yellow star all the way towards the Loch Ness View point and back.
Zooming out a bit so you can see it is in the bottom part of the lake.
Let’s start our WALK now:

Walking along the canal we saw on the opposite site this grand building:
Of course the sun was right behind it… but it made for some great silhouettes 😎 when the sun was perfectly places. Loved to see the reflections in the water too…
One more before we walk further…
At the far end we see this green cabin between some tall trees 🌲 what a spot… perfect for the search of Nessie 😉
We walk all the way towards the view point of Loch Ness and it has a pier that goes out into the lake.
We walk onto it and see this view 🤩😎 stunning…
Do you see the snowy mountain? It had just some light on it that made it even brighter with the white of the snow ❄️
See?
Do you spot Nessie? 🦕🦕🦕 maybe the ripples in the water… could there be something large figure swimming… just in front of me? 🤓
Will we ever know? 😇 who knows
Walking off the pier we go to the side and see the sign from Loch Ness and welcome to Fort Augustus.
I still see ripples in the water… hehehe 🤭
Walking back towards the bridge in the middle of the town. We see here the Caledonian Canal Locks… there are 6 here. I will show you another time the photos taken with my Canon. 📸 As it can use a separate post.
And I also saw this stunning BACKDROP of the mountains. beautiful
While walking back to the car, we had parked at the far end of this town… I spotted this bench. I just had to capture it 😁 it was placed in a perfect spot, walking up a very very steep bit 😁
It says: ”REST YOUR BAHOOKIE” hahaha 🤣
