New year greetings dear friends, and welcome to my blog.
It's another Wednesday and I'm thrilled to share with you the #wednesdaywalk which I had sometime ago.
You know, mornings can be quite refreshing especially after a downpour. It happened that the earth was visited with a heavy showers the previous night till the wees of that morning, so the weather was cold. Fortunately the sun was in place, it's bright rays infusing the air with a gentle warmth, making it a perfect moment to enjoy a peaceful rural promenade.
What a beautiful sky
My walk took me along a farm path, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature. The air was filled with the sweet songs of birds and the gentle fluttering of butterflies.
As I rambled along the farm path, I couldn't help but notice the vibrant tomato plants stretching out before me. The farming season was in full swing, and the recent rainfall had left the soil moist and fragrant.
The lands here are rich and fertile. Take a look at the plantain, banana plants and "monkey kola" plants.
Plantain
Monkey Kola
Monkey kola is one of my favorite fruits and it's locally called "Ochicha". It is actually in its fruiting stage and it takes few weeks for the fruits to mature, and ready to eat. I bet you haven't seen it before 😅.
And here's a mountainous termite mound. I wonder the length of months it took these termites to build such a masterpiece. Incredible!
Let me tell you few interesting things about this termite mound - the winged termites, you know that edible termite, locally known as 'Aku Mbe" harbors here. Rodents and reptiles can make a home here too, so you have to be on the lookout when passing one. Don't say I didn't tell you, hahaha!
I wonder why I often have visitors on my walk, lol. You see the kids behind the tree, curiosity written on their faces.
I could imagine them thinking "What's this aunt doing, clicking away on her phone and even talking to herself"!I'm sure they'll understand one day, when they're grown and own phones. By the way, talking to oneself once in a while, I was told, is actually a healthy habit. 😅
This walk offered me another wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and clear my mind. The sights, sounds, and scents of the environment created a truly unforgettable experience. I hope you enjoy the video and the photos as I look forward to sharing more of my adventures with you.
Thank you for reading and watching. 😂
