That day, the nineteenth day of April, I met some works of Mario and Harry, some kitesurfers, children on the playground and some kind waiters in a restaurant. I was not remembering the exact day until I opened the file containing these photos. That is the secret of my knowledge, just a date that was shown there. As according to the food we got in the restaurant, I would not remember. I didn't even remember what we ate, also until now. But let's start this walk from the beginning and let me introduce you first who is Mario.
A real person, but I didn't meet him in real. It was just a mural I saw, that came out of his mind and the spray that followed his hand movements. A street artist, with the pseudonym Mario Mankey. Coming from these lands, moved to Berlin but still, we can find some works from him painted on the walls of the Valencian Community in Spain. That is how I met him, through this lady who has blown a huge bubble-gum bubble.
It was a cloudy day, with dull grey skies. Nothing seemed nice that day in the city of Sagunto, but the graffiti I met made some balance to the colourless day. The other lady decided to smoke. She was cool too, though she came from the imagination of Harry. Harry Bones, another street artist, covered the walls of the parking plot with his contribution.
The rest of the street artists, I don't know who they were. Maybe they introduced themselves with a signature, but I was not focused. I missed it, as the next goal that day was to find a place where to eat. The clouds seemed more and more persistent, so a quick decision was made. We will go towards the part of the city that is situated right on the shore. Five or ten minutes away, by car, in the search for more sun. And food.
That is how we arrived at Puerto de Sagunto, looking for a brighter day and a short walk before lunch.
What did we expect?
More people and life, open restaurants and bars.
What did we get?
All closed venues, a few people, two children, two kiteboarders and wind.
Well, not that the kiteboarding (kitesurfing) was not interesting to see, but what was happening? Why everything was closed?
Oh no, another bank holiday, and restaurant owners taking a break. We do know how to choose a day for an excursion :D
But to be honest, the blue sky did a bit of recompense. The only place we found was full, with just one available table, on the terrace. That is why nobody was on the streets. All those people had the same idea - get something for lunch. As I already mentioned, I almost forgot what we have eaten, but now I remember. It was paella, not the best one that we had in our lives, but it served its purpose. And the waiters were kind.
Well, I almost forgot to mention the seagull in the sky (do you see it?). He also counts as someone we met in this Wednesday Walk, right?
