On Wednesday of two weeks ago, I had to go to the hospital ER. Although it was an emergency, in the end it was nothing serious, but something very painful and annoying. My left elbow had been hurting for a few days, until it was too much and Tuesday night I couldn't sleep, it felt swollen and I couldn't move my arm or wrist. After an exhausting trip to the hospital and a long wait in the ER, the diagnosis was: tennis elbow. I do not play tennis nor am I currently in any physically demanding occupation. But the doctor asked me if I practiced any other sports, if I worked as a cleaner or a seamstress, or if I played a musical instrument. That last one was the answer, although he told me that tennis elbow can be caused by many things. It is an inflammation in the elbow joint that prevents the correct functioning of basically all the muscles and tendons of the arm, for this reason I could not move my wrist either and the pain reached my fingers.
El miércoles de la semana antepasada tuve que ir a emergencias del hospital. Aunque sí era una emergencia, al final no fue nada grave, pero sí algo muy doloroso y molesto. Mi codo izquierdo llevaba unos días doliendo, hasta que fue demasiado y la noche del martes no pude dormir, se sentía hinchado y no podía mover el brazo ni la muñeca. Después de un viaje agotador hacia el hospital y una larga espera en emergencias, el diagnóstico fue: codo de tenista. Yo no juego tenis ni estoy ejerciendo ningún oficio demandante físicamente actualmente. Pero el doctor me preguntó si practicaba algún otro deporte, si trabajaba como limpiadora o costurera, o si tocaba algún instrumento musical. Esa última era la respuesta, aunque me dijo que el codo de tenista puede ocurrir por muchas cosas. Es una inflamación en la articulación del codo que impide el correcto funcionamiento de básicamente todos los músculos y tendones del brazo, por eso tampoco podía mover mi muñeca y el dolor me llegaba hasta los dedos de la mano.
After leaving the hospital, the pain medicine had relieved me a bit and my boyfriend and I started looking for a pharmacy where we could buy another medicine that the traumatologist prescribed. But they were all closed because now it is summer time, and they close early afternoon. Even so, some pharmacies stand guard, we set out to continue looking and google maps gave us indications that there was one open, but we walked a lot and every time we arrived at a new pharmacy, it was also closed. In order not to give up so much walking, from the beginning we had decided to take it as a walk, we call these walks "urban exploration". So while we were walking I took some photos of our neighborhood, one where there are many buildings and lots of shops, but also many places for recreation, such as bars to have a drink, and squares and parks where people go with their friends, their children or their puppies to walk and hang out.
Después de salir del hospital ya el medicamento del dolor me había aliviado un poco y mi novio y yo nos pusimos a buscar una farmacia donde comprar otro medicamento que me recetó el traumatólogo, Pero todas estaban cerradas porque ahora están el horario de verano, y cierran temprano por la tarde. Aún así algunas farmacias hacen guardia, nos dispusimos a seguir buscando y google maps nos daba indicaciones de que había alguna abierta, pero caminamos mucho y cada vez que llegábamos a una farmacia nueva, también estaba cerrada. Para no dar por perdido tanto caminar desde el principio nos habíamos dispuesto a tomarlo como un paseo, nosotros llamamos a estos paseos "exploración urbana". Así que mientras caminábamos tomé algunas fotos de nuestro barrio, uno donde hay muchos edificios y mucho mucho comercio, pero también muchos lugares de esparcimiento, como bares para tomar algo, y plazas y parques donde la gente va con sus amigos, sus hijos o sus perritos a caminar y a pasar el rato.

Around here there are many stairs and passages that serve as a shortcut, this is due to the relief of the city, which has many slopes.

After a lot of walking, partly because of our failed mission to find a pharmacy and then to distract ourselves a bit, we were tired and hungry, so we went to Domino's pizza near home. I didn't take photos of our food, I'm just leaving you another selfie of my tired but happy face because I was about to eat 😂. It was sweet of my boyfriend to have the initiative for us to have dinner out, I think he wanted to cheer me up looking at flowers with me and taking me out to eat pizza, which was delicious 😋
Después de mucho caminar, en parte por nuestra misión fallida de encontrar farmacia y luego para distraernos un poco, estábamos cansados y hambrientos, así que fuimos al Domino´s pizza de cerca de casa. No tomé fotos de nuestra comida, solo les dejo otra selfie de mi cara cansada pero a la vez feliz porque ya iba a comer 😂. Fue tierno de parte de mi novio tener la iniciativa de que cenáramos fuera, yo creo que quería levantarme el ánimo mirando flores conmigo y llevándome a comer pizza, la cual estuvo deliciosa 😋
