The Lekki-Epe express road is the busiest road on this island, it is more of a federal road however, it is maintained by the state government. Walking on this road during the day is not very safe because of women reckless motorcycle riders. I am talking about the dispatch riders. These guys do not seems to value safety of themselves and passer-by's. They are always in a rush to deliver whatever they have to deliver.
Another thing is the fact that they have started laying gas pipe along the road. I believe that this pipe will be heading to the popular Dangote refinery at Epe. The gas pipe laying started in late November of 2024, and it has continued on daily basis. Everyday I see the pipe being joined but today they have gone farther and I wouldn't be reaching the part of the road where they are.
This road is about 49.6km according to what I saw on wikipedia. It is the link road between two popular cities, Lekki and Epe. Epe for instance is the home town of the former Governor of Lagos state.
Walking through this road one needs a nose mask from dusts all over. There are strategic places I try to avoid whenever I am driving. This places include but not limited to Marwa, Ikate, Chisco, Jakande, Agungi among others. This is because of the existing traffic light in these places and consequently, there is always traffic congestion popularly called hold-up of go-slow in our local pidgin.
