Wednesday Walk A walk in the woods at Hamlin Crossing
This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)
Any questions about the challenge read the guide at the Bottom of the post ;)
For this weeks walk, I visited a small trail managed by the Buzzards bay Coalition called Hamlin crossing in Acushnet MA
The last time iIvisited it this field had been cleared at some stage and the grass wild vegetation was very low, it was quite different on this visit

As this next shot shows the vegetation as fairly high, I will be honest I wasn't sure about taking a stroll through it, as the morning before I walked another trail that was similar
A little bit about Hamlin crossing, and the bugs were out in force, they usually do not bite me but that had a field day that morning and I got bit all over my arms and face, but maybe the bugs don't like the middle of the day when I walked at Hamlin Crossing, although I saw lots of bees, not bugs were biting me thankfully
Hamlin Crossing’s trail is about 0.3 miles long, over uneven terrain that’s mostly covered by leaves and pine needles. Watch your step for protruding tree roots as well as muddy patches, especially around the wetlands. (Download trail map)
The short trail begins with a loop through the wildflower meadow beside the barn. Take your time in the meadow to look for native species like Indian grass, red fescue, and black-eyed Susans that have been encouraged to return to this space, which was formerly overgrown with invasive plants and vines. On the far right side of the meadow, you’ll find a small wetland where tall grasses and cattails grow. Follow the bog boards to your left to enter the main trail through the woods.

it was a lot greener here than other parts in the area which was nice to see mind you to be honest I did boost the greens a bit in editing, maybe because so much in this area is so brown with so little rain

After I walked the short trail through the woods I switch to my macro lens and walked back and forth catching bees and such but those shots will be for another post

Even on a small trail like this which seeing the trail is easy that had a few signs out, but as I said the other time I visited here the vegetation and perhaps then the trail signs were more needed

Perhaps why this area is green is it is marshy in parts hence the wood in spots on the trail

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.
