Wednesday Walk the Sawmill

This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)

Any questions about the challenge read the guide at the Bottom of the post ;)

For this weeks post I am sharing a recent walk at the Acushnet Sawmill here in New Bedford, Starting with a shot from the car park as I was about to cross the road into the park.

I dont think I have ever shared a photo of the entrance to the park and this building before

I love this spot looking over the water especially on a day like this with nice clouds in the sky and reflected on the water, often I see people fishing from this spot.

It may look like it was a nice warm day but looks can fool us, it was infact not far above freezing point when I was there and I really felt it in my feet after a short while so I didnt spend a lot of time walking there before heading back to the car to warm up

Winter is draining most of the color in nature as you can see, you may see a path off tot he left that is heading to the spot I shared the shot of looking over the water

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.

This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.

Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.

Try and get a few shots not just one

Add a bit of a write up about where you walked

Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week

You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.

Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss

Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .

Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.

I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

Beautiful shots! I know you have shared this area before, but I am always impressed by the beauty of it. Even with the leaves gone and the grays of winter showing. We are in a bit of limbo here right now. The ground still isn't froze and nothing seems to be sticking. This big storm is supposed to dump some ice on us tonight and then rain on you folks this weekend I think.

Thanks yes I have visited here many times, its close to the daughter in Laws hair salon so when my wife is there I often go take a stroll here, but tring to get different shots and views so not to get to repetitive

We have had some light snow fall but nothing settling yet, and yes rain coming our way on the weekend

Happy #wednesdaywalk! All walks in nature are rewarding. Interesting how blue skies can be deceiving. I was picturing a warm fall day and then you said it was near freezing 🙂

I love the photo with the lake. The reflection on the lake shows the path...Like symbolizing that your goal is at the end of the path, just keep going! I enjoyed that digital walk with you! Thanks for sharing! :)

Reflections across the water with clouds above always make an interesting subject to photograph, cold sneaking in again wrap up warm it's almost winter again!

Yes officially winter in a few days and I am already struggling, I am warmly wrapped up whern I go out most of my feels fine its just my feet that I am struggling with at the moment, I may have to look for new and warmer boots

Slightly bigger boot size and double up with socks, thin cotton under thick wool over should do the trick. Summer here again my hands and feet swell from the heat exact opposite, always something to consider in climates. Exercise helps when able to go out for short spells to get the blood moving !LOLZ no matter the weather.

Yeah I have a couple of winter boots that have worked well for me up till this year and I do the double up on socks, remember those tricks from living in other cold countries and working outdoors a lot

I honestly suspect the blockage in my leg is the problem, will see what the Dr days on Monday

yes moving is good even if I am not getting out for walks I am doing some exercise at home most days to keep the blood oving

Taking regular little walks around the garden helps a little, I miss walks as we knew them. How very much life has changed here, I cannot imagine the cold, when I constantly complain about the heat.

Hope the Doc can sort out the problem, my mom was a firm believer in an aspirin a day helps thin blood for circulation, something I have done sometimes when I remember.

I take blood thinners and an aspirin every day which should help avoiding blockages

Indeed, at first it looks like these photos were taken on a nice warm day... The grass is so brightly green that one doesn't immediately notice that the leaves on the trees are gone. Nice walk!

That’s a beautiful spot next to the sawmill.
The photo does look warm, as in really nice weather… but like you say, it can fool you. I believe you when you say it was just above freezing.
The sky is clear, great captures.

Indeed the looks do really deceive us, I was actually thinking it was hot, but I was totally wrong.

These images are always beautiful, I love it and those clouds showing in them are just it for me. I finally got to see the entrance of the park, hehe, it's beautiful and neat too 🏞️☺️.

Nice walk JJ, it's a good thing you could go out for a walk during this season, so cold 🥶🥶.

Oops my wife is slowly improving it's going to be a long road she may never have full use of her shoulder but doesn't need surgery so it's going in the right direction

As for me it seems from my last vascular ultrasound I have a blockage in my right leg between 50 to 75% and had a CT scan last week and get the results on Monday

I'm glad she's on the mend though. And the mind is a super powerful tool for healing.

Doctors are wrong about such things quite often. Seriously.

Copy that re leg. Interesting this happened during your wife's difficulty and that your initiative here is related to walking... don't you think?

I'll check in next week and will be hoping all is well for you until then. I hope you're getting second and third opinions as well for best treatment.

A dear friend dislocated his shoulder and was told by the first doctor to use the arm as much as possible. :/

9 months and two ops and he's on the mend but was in agony for two months before another Dr helped him.

He used a lot of Qi Gong to recover as well. He swears by it and the doctor was impressed with his recovery and strength 💪

Stay focused and positive. But your post here feels as though you are. 💥

I have had the same thought myself, its when I slowed down on my walking that I got another blockage

and yes I say another I have had blockages in both legs and have stents, so if they do need to do a procedure I at least know how it goes and are not to stressed about it

Its different symptoms this time just feeling the cold in my foot otherwise the legs feel good, so maybe it is blocked or maybe not, on Monday I will know

Okay. I was hoping you'd say that and didn't want to pry to much. But a stent is okay. I mean... since it's necessary. Which is less than okay but what it is :/

Sending strength and peace until you do and always. I'll keep an eye on you from the sidelines so know you're not alone and on we go.

Not prying at all, as I said I have bene through this before and have stents in both legs, was hoping i wouldnt need more surgeries but it is what it is ;)

Oh wow, wonderful pictures, from the blue skies I would never have guessed how cold it was. Thank you for sharing and do keep warm as the winter comes in. It's opposite for us as the summer slowly kicks in. January is often warm in my neck of the woods :}
