On March 29, 2024, Good Friday night we went outside to take a walk and watch the procession or "Prusisyon" in Tagalog words. Every year here in Antipolo City most of those who join the procession are Catholics and they choose which saint they want to walk with. It has also a special candle for this kind of event and most of those who join the procession buy this candle and light up the candle and walk behind the saint.
The procession starts and ends in Antipolo Cathedral and all routes that the procession will pass through are closed. Thousands of devotees walk for up to 3 hours with those carrozas decorated with beautiful flowers and sparkling lights. The owners pull and push the carrozas.
I don't have any idea when or where started this kind of tradition I'm just here to share with you what I captured photos six days ago. Some folks just watch the procession instead of joining most of them are so excited to see all the carrozas with saints.
The ordinary street turned into a colorful and wonderful scenery look all those sparkling carrozas and devotees holding a candle everyone holding their faith. I respect what they want to believe because all of us have different beliefs.
