Sandy or blue? A walk around Mirsini, Crete

Today I have a double walk to share. Same place, morning and evening, a whole different feeling.

I started with the photographic highlight of the day. The spring, the center of our village's life. It is amazing how many people came to fill up their bottles while I was there trying to take this picture. It is the main meeting point where you can learn all the news :)

And why did I spent all this time there trying to take this picture? The idea came by the Qurator's Photo Quest by @qurator, where the theme of this week is High Motion.

I live in a quiet village characterized by its slow rhythm, so where am I supposed to find high motion? I was thinking of cars, lights, big cities. Running water is the only non-stop moving theme here and I find it quite inspiring. Someone had thrown a carnation in and it kept moving around by the move of the water, it's the pink shadow in the left corner.

Not a single sign of wind today, while tomorrow we are waiting for massive southern winds that will bring Sahara sand as well. Well, the air feels clear, but the atmosphere is quite unclear when you look further away. Some sand has already come.

In the following days, if the forecast is right, the sky will turn almost red and any photograph will look like sepia.

For now, a bit blurry but still blue. Although you can't really say where the sea ends and the sky starts.

This is one more walk with Markos, my loyal companion.

While this is a walk that we do almost every day, every time is slightly different. For example this wild pear tree didn't have all these flowers blooming everywhere the previous days. I think this is the pick of its glory!

Daisies (again!) and unknown tiny cute flowers.

Returned home and spent the whole day painting the kitchen in a vibrant blue color. When I am tired I like to take a short relaxing walk with Markos, so we started walking again.

Just before it gets dark, there is no sigh of sunset colors, just blue. Amazing blue.

Looking at Mochlos village from above. The sea is still, nothing is moving.

Here comes the spring and some gossip with the old ladies that want to learn everything, and they are so cute that I confess it all :)

The area around just before darkness covers the mountains and the nearby village of Tourloti.

A full day comes to an end. Pretty tired, but couldn't miss my #wednesdaywalk addiction for the wonderful challenge by @tattoodjay.

Happy walk everyone!

Wow great job on the photography and capturing the silky softness of the water. I also like the blossoms and the view at the end of the night. Beautiful!

Thank you so much Sara! Nice to hear from you!!!
I love the blossoms too, can't get enough of them!

Such beautiful pictures and the ones of the spring are stunning, thanks for this wonderful tour xxxxxx

Thank you Aishlinn! It is so beautiful out there with all new life coming to light. Makes everything feel brighter.
While waiting for the Sahara sand, that left you (I guess) and comes to us :)

Very cool walk! Love the pear tree flowers.

Thank you @goldenoakfarm! The pear tree was wonderful and so loaded :) Within a couple of days, it had changed so much!

You are right, you can pass by a place every day and there will always be something different, especially when it is a natural environment like the one you show us, the photos are charming and illustrate your narration very well.

Thank you so much @marito74 for the lovely comment! Even with different light, everything looks so different, can never be bored :)

It's starting to look very springy there with the flowers. On my side of the world on the other hand... temperature dropped some 10 degrees overnight.

It's our turn :) 10 degrees overnight? I hate these sudden changes...
Looks like spring might be too short here or we are having a summery break in the middle, over 33°C in a couple of days.
Just realized that you are going on your next travel during wintertime, right?

Possibly yeah, better for cycling during the day. I'll most likely complain it's gonna be way too cold, but that's how humans are, right? It's never perfect.

Oh yes, NEVER :)

First off I will say all the photos on your walk are beautiful
But the ones of the water especially that first one WOW I am blown away that is fantastic good luck in the contest

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

Thank you so much @tattoodjay! So glad you liked the photo, I am pretty happy with the result too. It was certainly a good chance for a second photo-walk today :)

it is a briolliant shot, one I saw and thought WOW and struggled to find words to express how amazed i was by it

Really??? Wow, thank you so much!

OHh yes absolutely, you know photography is a hobby I love, and that is one shot I saw and thought wow I wish I had taken that LOL
