The weather that day could not decide if it would be sunny, cloudy, hot or cool, windy or calm. It was one of these crazy days of the spring that throughout the day you keep putting on and off clothes. This trip took place on May while we were still on vacation in Peloponnese.
This small harbor is the first thing you meet at the entrance of this small town, which is actually on a small island that remains connected to the mainland by a narrow lane of land.
On your right, there is this small harbor and on your left the hot springs. Methana is famous for its hot springs. Actually there is an impressive volcano in the middle of the "island". We didn't have the time to go this time, but next time we won't miss it :)

I don't know how many of you have visited a place like this, let's say a place where the connection with the core (literally) of our planet is so strong, but let me tell you that the main characteristic of these places is the odor of sulfur! And it doesn't smell good :)
The building looked like abandoned, but just a few days before we go, some friends had their therapeutic baths there.
The general feeling is that the town is abandoned, but it is not true. About 2.000 people live here (and smell sulfur all day long)!
Truth is that the town seemed alive, but I focused on the lost glory of the past, where Methana was a famous spa destination and big hotels were full of visitors.
The beaches have all kind of volcanic stones and colors. This "iron" colored ones were the most common.

We didn't spend much time at the town, we mostly wandered around the area.

It was so green when we were there and had so many herbs!
It was already late when we started driving back to our base 2 hours away and we had decided to go through the mountains, the hard way. As the the sun was setting down, the clouds started getting bigger and bigger covering the tops, which was magic :)
