Whenever we visit cities and villages on our holiday trips I always like to visit the churches and cathedrals.
I always like the atmosphere in churches; the silence, the smell, the lighting, she high ceilings and the decorations.
So I have taken many photographs of churches in the past (and will certainly take some more in the future).
That's why I was excited that the subject of this round of the #worldphotography challenge by @marc-allaria is "churches of the world".
A couple of years ago we visited the Beglian city La Roche-en-Ardenne and of course paid a visit to the local church; L'Église Saint-Nicolas.
It was a bit of an overcast day, but when we were wandering through the church suddenly the sun broke through the clouds. When I was in the back of the church I saw the sunlight entering the windows in the church. It was such a wonderful sight. It had something magical.
(my submission for the contest)
It was remarkable how modern the stained glass windows in the church were. In most churches you see scenes of bible stories or figures in them. These ones were pretty colourful.
And here's another closeup of the light entering the windows of the church:

Photographing is my passion. Although I like photography in general, nature photography is one of my favourite subjects. I often go out with my camera for a hike to capture the beauty of nature.
I'm sharing my photos on Hive, Noise.Cash & APPICS.
I would love to read what you think of my photos in the comments.
