Art Journal: "Hazy Dawn'' | Coffee Painting ☕🖌️

in #hive-1565092 days ago

Hello, Hiver friends and fellow art enthusiasts! I hope this artwork will resonate with you and add warmth to your day.

This compelling painting features a lone bird confidently perched atop a fence post, boldly silhouetted against a sprawling, atmospheric sky. The subdued color palette, combined with the bird's solitary stance, evokes a profound sense of contemplation and a touch of melancholy. The barbed wire in the foreground introduces a layer of complexity, powerfully suggesting themes of confinement and boundary. The overall impact is one of peaceful introspection, capturing a pivotal moment where the bird stands as a vigilant observer of the expansive landscape. The manipulation of light and shadow intensifies the mood of contemplation, compelling the viewer to engage in the bird's silent vigil.

I used three types of painting brushes for this piece, and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the step-by-step basic methods below.

Materials Needed:
👉 Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
👉 Pencil and Eraser
👉 Coffee Powder
👉 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)

Brushes:
👉 Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm

Basic Procedure:
• Outline or sketch your painting reference.
• Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
• On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
• The same procedure with the foreground.
• Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
• Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.

Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
