Art Journal: "Tranquility Under a Misty Sky'' | Coffee Painting ☕🖌️

in #hive-156509yesterday

Greetings, dear Hiver friends and fellow art enthusiasts! I hope you’re all having a peaceful and joyful Sunday. Today, I’m excited to share my latest coffee artwork, created with love and a sense of purpose.

This coffee painting aims to evoke a deep sense of serene tranquility. Through gentle shades of coffee brown, I've depicted a misty sky, a solitary tree, and a quiet bench resting beneath its branches. I’ve carefully integrated several birds into the scene, as they add a touch of life and harmony to the overall atmosphere.

The painting embodies quiet contemplation and celebrates the simple, beautiful moments found in nature. The soft brushstrokes and muted tones create a calming and meditative space for reflection. I believe the true strength of this piece lies in its simplicity, inviting viewers to experience a moment of peace and introspection. It’s truly remarkable what can be achieved with coffee as a medium, and I hope this piece resonates with your hearts just as it did with mine.

I used three types of painting brushes for this piece, and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the step-by-step basic methods below.

Materials Needed:
👉 Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
👉 Pencil and Eraser
👉 Coffee Powder
👉 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
👉 Ruler
👉 Clean Water
👉 Rag
👉 Paper napkin or paper towel

Brushes:
👉 Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
👉 Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
👉 Filbert brush

Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.

Basic Procedure:
• Outline or sketch your painting reference.
• Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
• On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
• The same procedure with the foreground.
• Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
• Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.

Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
