At the moment I'm discovering so many new passions, and this one is one of them... When disassembling old electrical appliances and cables (because it's fun :P) I always come across copper as an electrical conductor and I love it as a creative material. At the same time, I found wonderful stones. And thought it was a good idea to combine these two materials. The result is a small selection of jewelry that I would like to show you here. I gave away most of them as a gift.
I sanded all the stones by hand from coarse to fine and finally made them shine with shoe polish. The small notches, some of which serve as guides for the wires, were also ground in by hand. It was a lot of work, but as is often the case, it was meditative.
Momentan entdecke ich so viele neue Leidenschaften, diese ist eine davon...Beim Auseinanderbauen alter Elektrogeräte und Kabel (weil´s Spaß macht :P) stoße ich immer wieder auf Kupfer als elektrischen Leiter und ich liebe es als kreatives Material. Gleichzeitig habe ich diese wundervollen Steine gefunden. Und fand es eine gute Idee, diese beiden Materialien zu kombinieren. Herausgekommen ist eine kleine Auswahl an Schmuckstücken, die ich euch hier zeigen möchte. Die meisten davon habe ich verschenkt.
Die Steine habe ich alle von Hand von grob nach fein abgeschliffen und am Ende mit Schuhpolitur zum Glänzen gebracht. Die kleinen Kerben, die zum Teil als Führung für die Drähte dienen, habe ich auch von Hand hineingeschliffen. Das war viel Arbeit, aber wie so oft, meditativer Art.
