The Real Superheroines of Hive Valley

a webcomic, by Matt S. Law

What?? An actual super hero Vs super villain battle?? It seems like it's been a while. Well, I guess Miss Victory fought Octobriana twice last chapter, but those were more like "I'm so much better than you that I'll just defeat you between camera frames" fight. Miss Fury did have a good couple of panels fighting Madame Muscle.

Let's hope for a nice, clean, and safe Moon Girl and Mary Marvel Vs Yin Yang match.

I just realized that my China population comment might require some explanation. I was working on an old Mutant's & Masterminds world setting where about 1 out of every 10,000,000 people on Earth suddenly develop superpowers. Look at a population map and suddenly China and India are the new super powers by a huge margin. Of course in DC Comics, the United States somehow ends up with most of the super powered beings. In Marvel like 90% of them are in Manhattan alone.

Today's panel was drawn and uploaded from a Starbucks in Carlsbad, California.

Chinese culture is pretty old and they were ahead of most of the world for a long time. Communism may have set them back a bit. I think they have a rich history of 'super beings'. They also have dragons!

Well, it is more of a rap really.

I have a Chinese last name but learned very little about Chinese culture or even about my own Chinese family line. I know they invented gunpowder. And supposedly pasta but I heard that one might have been a myth. But when it comes to supernatural beings, older usually equates to more powerful. So they would have older gods and older dragons than Western cultures. What they really lack... is marketing!

We know the US excels at marketing. How many superheroes from other countries just couldn't get the sponsorship deals?
