I painted a portrait last Monday because I needed something to hang on my wall. It is quite small though, so I'm thinking it's time to get larger canvases. But before I do that, I'll need to purchase primer and acrylic paint. Right now, I'm using gouache, but even someone like me who is new to physical mediums can tell that it's not working well with the rough texture of my canvas and I am probably using more paint it fill up the canvas space.
But I love it.
