Historic Double Gold for India
It's official. Not only did India won the Open section, they took the gold in the Women's as well! In the Open, India beat Slovenia 3.5-1.5 following the wins by Gukesh, Pragg and Erigaisi while the Women's team followed suit by beating Azerbaijan 3.5-1.5.
The United States took second place after beating China 2.5-1.5 after a win of Philippine born Wesley So against Wei Yi. Before this round, China had a slim chance of winning the gold if India lost and China won against the US.

Consolation Prize for the Philippines
Our country, the Philippines had 12 points in the tournament for 59th place. In consolation, we produced our 17th grandmaster after 13 years. 20 year old Daniel Quizon reached 2500 Elo in the tournament to earn the grandmaster title.
