My opponent opened the match by trying a scholar's mate. I knew I should be prepared to defend that, I was not but I managed to. Plus, I knew that if my opponent opened with such a strategy the person probably wasn't ready for a long game, so I remained calm, although I spent a lot of time thinking about what to do.

At the moment when I played the (brilliant) Ne5+ move I didn't instantly figure out how to proceed, I was trying to keep him in check, but I couldn't find a "safe" way to do it so I simply wanted to move my knight.
However, when the opponent reacted by capturing the piece, I noticed the opportunity to check and get the queen and the rook safely. A great exchange. I imagined "this has to be brilliant move, I've got to check the game review after".
Then I finished and won by mate, and here it is, my first brilliant.
It was satisfying, would be even more if the move was intentional, but I am satisfied that I could see how to proceed after that. I have seen people making accidental brilliant moves but wasting opportunities.
This came in a good time, I have had 6 losses in a row and I was feeling down, I wasn't very motivated to play as I fell to sub 500 rating. I gotta keep studying and practicing!
I will tey to make sure that the next brilliant move is both intentional and predicted! I am trying to revover that 500 ish rating!
