Saludos a toda la comunidad de The anime realm, me complace el día de hoy participar de la nueva iniciativa que nos invita a contar quién es nuestro personaje de anime favorito. Fue algo difícil elegir solo uno ya que tengo varios, pero luego de pensarlo opte por elegir a Undertaker y a continuación les diré mis razones por las cuales es mi favorito.

Undertaker is a character from the Kuroshitsuji manga illustrated by Yana Toboso and is that kind of character that doesn't catch your attention at first glance, but then becomes key to the story and that's when I was completely won over by his character:

Undertaker es un personaje del manga Kuroshitsuji ilustrado por Yana Toboso y es esa clase de personajes que no llaman la atención a primera vista, pero luego se convierte en clave para la historia y ahí es cuando me conquisto por completo su personaje:

• He is ultra mysterious, I always loved mysterious characters and he is mysterious from head to toe. Nothing is known about his past, or why he did what he did, but I am sure of one thing, his motivations will be extraordinary and I say this because Yana doesn't make characters with weak motivations and she has proven it throughout history, even with the most basic characters. Therefore, a character like Undertaker will be no exception.

• He went from being a simple gravedigger who said nothing to being the main antagonist of the plot. He was nobody until the Campania arc where he reveals who he is and how he makes his revelation is masterful, that's when he won me over and became my favorite character.

• All his moves were a complete secret that no one noticed, not even Sebastian who is a demon that nothing escapes him. Of all the antagonists that appeared, Undertaker was the only one that overcame him and to this day continues to cause him headaches. The complicated situation in which he put our protagonists is very well done, in a very intelligent and unimaginable way.

• Es ultra misterioso, a mí siempre me encantaron los personajes misteriosos y él lo es de pies a cabeza. Nada se sabe de su pasado, ni del por qué hizo lo que hizo, pero de algo estoy segura, sus motivaciones serán extraordinarias y esto lo digo porque Yana no hace personajes con motivaciones débiles y lo ha demostrado a lo largo de toda la historia, incluso con los personajes más básicos. Por ende, un personaje como Undertaker no será la excepción.

• Paso de ser un simple sepulturero que nada decía a ser el antagonista principal de la trama. No era nadie hasta el arco del Campania donde se revela quién es y cómo hace su revelación es magistral, fue ahí cuando me conquisto y se convirtió en mi personaje favorito.

• Todos sus movimientos fueron un completo secreto de los que nadie se percató, ni siquiera Sebastián que es un demonio al que nada se le escapa. De todos los antagonistas que aparecieron, Undertaker fue el único que lo supero y hasta la actualidad sigue causándole dolores de cabeza. La situación complicada en la que puso a nuestros protagonistas está muy bien hecha, de forma muy inteligente e inimaginable.

What would a great story be without a great villain?

He's charismatic, with an odd sense of humor, powerful, mysterious, intelligent, a danger even to his former teammates and I love his design. His development is still a work in progress because the story is going a bit slow, but everything he caused in the plot can make you love him or hate him. I'm impressed how he's been doing everything behind everyone's back and many secrets when they were revealed left me, "WOW, this guy is brilliant". For me, all his qualities and misdeeds made him stand out above the rest.

¿Qué sería de una gran historia sin un gran villano?

Es carismático, con un sentido del humor extraño, poderoso, misterioso, inteligente, un peligro hasta para sus antiguos compañeros y me encanta su diseño. Su desarrollo aún está en proceso porque la historia va algo lenta, pero todo lo que causo en la trama puede hacer que lo ames o lo odies. Me impresiona como ha estado haciendo todo a espaldas de todos y muchos secretos cuando fueron revelados me dejaron: “WOW, este sujeto es brillante”. Para mí, todas sus cualidades y fechorías lo hicieron resaltar por sobre el resto.

I don't want to overwhelm you with so much text, because I could be writing a testament of the reasons why I love Undertaker and I would end up giving spoilers, so I will leave the main reasons why I consider him to be one of the best anime characters I've ever seen.
