Hello everyone.
Seriously, this anime has to be the one with the biggest plot twist I've ever watched. I have watched some anime with some amazing plot twists—I mean, a lot of them. But this one surprised me. I know most of us have already watched this anime, but for some of us who have not tried it, I'll make the review as simple as possible and not touch the plot twist or give any spoilers or something.
I was recommended to watch this anime when we're chatting in the Otaku group on WhatsApp. You know, the group consists of the anime lovers in our school. We gather there to chat about all sorts of anime and stuff, and we also receive recommendations on anime. Don't let me bore you with the details. After I was recommended to watch this anime, I took note of it. Later, I saw a question on my WhatsApp status about a surprising plot twist relating to this anime, but they didn't answer the question in it. After checking the reviews, I was prompted to start this anime.
So, let's first get on with the review, and I'll tell everything I know about this anime, and I'll try as much as possible not to give any spoilers.
Review
This is the story of Lelouch, whose father was an emperor, who was exiled from the main capital, Britannia, along with his sister Nunnally. His sister was such a frail girl that she witnessed a traumatic event when they killed her mother in front of her. The incident traumatized her in such a way that she lost her sight. So her brother Luleuch promised himself to take good care of her sister, such that he claimed that he would fight back everything for her and protect her from any harm that may come from anybody.
The movie has a slow start as we see Luleuch getting entangled with the government as he was coincidentally at the place where the rebellious group were fighting the government, as he already promised to stay undercover for the time being. After being caught in a life-or-death situation, he luckily found a companion in C.C., which gave him the power to control people and make them do what he liked. Along the way, he joined the group that rebelled against the government. As a very smart person himself, he was an indispensable member of the team, as the other members would wait for his order to be able to act. This went on and on in their battles. You know, as a good student, Luleuch didn't want to be caught, as he tried his best to be a good student and not get caught as the leader of the rebellious gang.
There's a lot about this anime, as we see the deployment of mechanized robots like the Lancelot used by Luleuch's best friend Suzaku Kururugi, the Guren used by Kallen and the Mahoroba used by Luleuch. The mechanized robots introduced a specialized way of fighting, which shows the advancement of technology, and a new and cool robot means more powers.
The anime has a lot of tactical play in it, as we see how Luleuch was able to juggle being a well-behaved student and, at the same time, being the most wanted villain (Zero) without being caught. He was very intelligent, though the level of intelligence was considered unreal for me. We also see different political tactics played between the country of Britannia and other countries, and so on.
