This month's prompt is all about anime sports, and I have a few classic animes in mind. Most of them are from the early 2000s, and I'm considering rewatching them to prepare for the blog post challenges here in anime realm. I thought I'd be quicker with the challenge this month, but here I am writing on the second day hahaha! 🤣😭 If only our electricity hadn't been cut off yesterday, I would have made a post about it. Sometimes it sucks to be living in a province because the electricity gets cut off out of the blue, and you don't know when it will be back.
anyways, I might have underestimated the time I spent on drawing for this fan art and another community challenge. I didn't realize I'd need to shade, color, save the image, upload it, and figure out what to write about it. Well, lesson learned - I need to manage my time better for the challenges I take on! 😂
Even though I mentioned that some of my favorite anime sports shows are from the early 2000s, I have also been keeping up with more recent ones. One of my recent favorites is Haikyuu. I started watching it 2 years ago and I really love the art style. One of my favorite characters from the show is Asahi which i drew before and posted it here.
I am very picky when it comes to anime art styles. The art style is what gets me interested and urges me to watch the anime.
It's like 90% of the anime show is admiring the drawing style, and then the rest of the percent is on the story, haha. Why am I picky? It motivates me to draw.
TIMELAPSE DRAWING
I'm thinking of drawing one of the characters from the anime Haikyuu, and this time I want to do it digitally. I'm still deciding which character to draw, so I searched for references on pinterest. I found mostly images of Hinata, and I want to focus on drawing movements, so I chose one of his poses.
In the timelapse, you can see that I attempted to color, but I stopped myself and decided to stick to shading instead. Coloring would have taken too much time, and I still have other work to do. So, I continued doing rough sketches.
CLOSE UP WORKS
the art style of Haikyuu isn't that difficult to draw. That's one of the reasons why I love it. It's simple but very beautiful and catchy.
One of my favorite things about drawing this was the hand ~ Ever since I started drawing anime, hand gestures have always been my favorite part of the body to draw. It's challenging and fun at the same time 😊
In the time-lapse video, you might have noticed that I struggled with drawing the shoes. Drawing feet is not my strong suit, hahaha! It's my Achilles' heel in drawing 😂 pun intended. But in all seriousness, it's the part of the body that I practice the least.
FINAL DRAWING
this is the final drawing. I didn't do justice to the number drawing. I'm sorry! Hahaha!
Thanks to anime realm challenges I got back to drawing, i might be doing it more often...
