Boukyaku Battery ⚾ [Eng/Esp]

in #hive-1584896 months ago

I remember when I talked about this anime in my Spring anime posts. I had just finished Blue Lock and I wanted to rack up my sports anime quota so I quickly set my eyes on the next.
For Soccer, I've seen and/or heard of Blue Lock, Captain Tsubasa, Ao Ashi, Inazuma Eleven, and some more. For basketball, of course I've heard of Slam dunk and kuroku no basket, even recently, I heard of a golf themed anime from @wittyzell (planning on watching that later), yet I've not heard or even seen anything about baseball, until now.

Boukyaku Battery ⚾

Plot

Haruka Kiyomine and Kaname Kei were an unstoppable force, the oblivion battery as each of their play were made to break down and destroy batters, sending their dreams of going pro into oblivion.
The cannon like pitcher Haruka and the skilled catcher and commander Kei didn't bother remembering the faces of their vanquished, until Kaname Kei gets in an accident and comes out of it with amnesia.
Now he starts from the beginning, tackling baseball with a new crazed, amazing stupid approach, but first, he has to build a team consisting of the very players he had won.

Normally I'd have spoken on different aspects of the anime that I liked and in some cases maybe what I don't like but I really can't do much of that here.

It was like this show knew it had to do something quite special so it could stand up in the sports sector of anime.
Haikyuu already had the character development and Blue Lock with kuroku no basket had the action and sports drive.
So in other to stay on its own, it did those aspects well and went a step forward in its comedy.

The comedy was smooth and well planned out.
To be exact, the show's plot was actually the best for comedic gags so it's even better they didn't opt in for a hardcore baseball tutorial disguised as an anime.

Kaname kei, being the one with amnesia and the main lead character was the main comedic gag.
He's amnesiac self is such a clear opposite of his former personality that it's quite baffling.

That and numerous other stupid gimmicks was used as material for quite some time.

The character development and sports action, despite not as pressed on as the comedy was still great.
The show really gave way for the characters as we learnt about their backstory, challenges and saw them break those hurdles. The two main characters though, Kaname and Hiruka hasn't have any distinct development but the way the show was going before it ended makes one believe that its coming.

The competitive sports bit has to be the least looked at, with just two matches in 12 episodes, you'd think it was a regular highschool slice of life he was watching.
Although there were numerous training scenes and episodes.
It made it seem like we the viewers were relearning baseball from scratch just like Kaname Kei and at such its a nice perspective.

In summary this show was a wonderful entry of the baseball game in anime, I realize that there are other baseball anime's and without me watching them, it's a bit rash for me to say this, but this has to be the best one there is and I urge you all to check it out.

ESPANOL

I'm still about to watch the anime version of this... The manga didn't have a lot of games yet either.... It's kind of building up the characters first... If you want some exciting baseball anime, I recommend you watch MAJOR or Dia no Ace. MAJOR is more of a baseball drama, but Dia no Ace focuses more on the game, so it's exciting to watch... and ohh.. One Outs is a unique baseball anime, but I also really enjoyed it. :)

Ohhh

You've watched quite a lot of baseball animes 😂😂

I watch mainly sports anime, baseball included. :)

I super agree with you @seki1! It's one of the best out there. I like its comedy and how they explain things to us like we're 3rd graders. 😅 I kinda like baseball now because of this anime.

!PIZZA

they explain things to us like we're 3rd graders.

😂😂😂
I do find my love for the sport growing too✨

Oblivion Battery? ahahaahha I've watched a lot of clips of it from reels, and it was really hilarious. I thought it was just a slice-of-life anime since all of the clips I've watched were all about his comedic gags with his friends.

I never expected it to be a sports anime tho, but I'm glad it is because for me, this somehow made it more interesting. The comedic gags were really hilarious; I almost forgot about this anime, and then I read your review! Thanks for sharing (≧▽≦)!

I would have added that gif😂😂😂

Seems it really isn't that popular as Tenor has limited gifs of them.

Yes it's a sports anime, please watch it 😂😂
