I am on day 14 of this prompt list so that's 14 days of continuous art and I am actually pretty proud of myself because
I can see improvements and my old art style coming back little by little with the daily practices and all and I can't believe it took a while, but from day 7 to this point on, I have been happy with what I've been drawing and it really really gives me high hopes for inktober so... I am convinced that I should really make this a yearly thing for me.
Going back to the blog, I'm currently on day 14 and that phobia is a fear of death or Thanataphobia and this one is a pretty rational fear to me because I do think everyone at some point does fear death but in a way that they fear what would happen to those they left behind or the way that they would die. Eitherway, I do see cases on a few blogs about people going paranoid and thinking they'd die over the littlest things. And I do think that's still acceptable.
Materials: Black ink, black pen, chalk, white pen
Duration: 3 hours
I really like how I represented my death here. It looks somber and quite sad as you see her fading into darkness. I would have done the Grim reaper bt I think fading into darkness works better since what happens after death will forever remain a mystery to me unless I actually attempt a seans and contact the dead for more info.
So I finally got to put my birthday gifts to good use UwU
This is the first page of my new sketchbook and I thought that I should make the first page really pretty so I went with this idea. I started off with my sketch then started to ink the non facial parts black. And I do like this sketchbook a lot because it's pretty thick for 180 GSM paper. Like, I have a 200 and 300 GSM sketchbook back in the lab but whenever I use ink or markers with it, it just bleeds into the paper and the next few pages, meanwhile this one didn't even have a trace of ink on the back when I checked. So I think I'll do all my prompts on this book and maybe get another one as soon as this one almost runs out
This is about an hour in, when the ink finally dried and I was layering the black pen layers. I think what took the most time was that I started smudging the pen shading to give it a smoother look and because the black ink took forever to dry. And I also had to make the fading transition a lot smoother else my perfectionist brain would lose it again XD
Then I did a pen layer on the ink side to give it a bit more depth since the ink in itself wasn't that dark even when you paint it on paper at a concentrated level.
I eventually forgot to take a few shots of the progression on the last hour because I really got into the zone and just finished the shading and highlighting without realizing that an hour had passed. I think I only stopped when I finished highlighting and when my hand started to hurt.
So this has been my day 14 and I hope you guys enjoyed seeing my progression and my art. I hope to see you guys again tomorrow and in the next few days ^^
This is all from me today ^^ it's a Saturday and I do think I want to spend it hibernating since I've been up and about again this week. Plus I have to prepare for a few other outings at the end of this month ^^
That's all for now, bye~~
Thank you so much for the support and for stopping by ^^
