Hello hello ^w^ it is the 8th day of my series and also the 8th of September! Today is my birthday!!! And it aligned with the hell prompt too. So I guess I must really belong there XD Though most of my birthdays have always been hell days because it's always either raining hard or because we have an exam or it's currently exam week so I could never really celebrate.
Same as this year so I'll just be drawing for today ^^
The prompt word for today is hell. This is referred to as Stygiophobia And it's not really that you fear hell in itself, but rather of sin and going to hell. Most of these people are the ones that grew up in very religious families or have grown up in a cult. This varies though, but I feel like this is more common in cults than I religious families because of their weird brainwashing and discipline practices. I kind of didn't want to search further because I was afraid of what I might see XD
Materials: Red marker, pens, and chalk
Duration: 2 hours
I made it a point to go as red as possible because if we're hitting sin, we need to go bright red. Same as when you see a walking red flag, you know you're gonna sin with this one XD
My acrylic marker took so long to dry, actually so that's why it took me 2 hours this time, but while I was waiting for my acrylic marker ink to dry, I worked on another piece because the idea I had in mind for the next drawing is a little harder than I thought
You see this huge red flag XD I don't think the red layering I did is that noticeable but I did try to do like a fading thing in the middle. But with the markers, I don't think it was doable because I ran out of that white blending marker I had. I have no idea if it's purely alcohol or what? but I liked that one a lot for blending.
Then I started on the gates of hell, which I really planned to adorn with some carvings and stuff.... but since I was still lazy and that I counted this as my drawing warm up for today, I skipped that idea XD
So I then added my demon and my foolishly man who was scared to enter hell. I would assume he did a grave sin here because the devil himself was the one to greet him upon his arrival.
I made it a point to layer my black and red pen to give it a more dramatic vibe to it, then I worked in some chalk because I really could not make a fading effect with the markers. And that is where I stopped with this because I left my sharpener in the lab so I could ot sharpen my chalk to a finer point so I can add small details.
Well, that's all from me for today. I did buy cake so I still celebrated my birthday a little. It is Sunday so I'll be hibernating a lot more.
Day 8 is done~~
