Design created by me in Photoshop
Hello people of the community, today I come to participate this week and share another illustration of @Splinterlands, this time I have chosen the character Sea Dog of Eight I have done it with the software Photoshop CS6, thanks for seeing my post and I hope you enjoy it.
Reference
Sketch
When drawing this character I kind of had in mind a beefy look as he represents in his original letter, with big horns, a hook and the shield, the things I wanted to add to this character was the hat from which his horns protrude, the belt that connects to the shoulder pad, the abdomen belt, and a lot of fur on the back and other more areas of the body like the arm, chest, armpits and paws.
Process
For the colors I used a kind of beige mixed with other shades, creating the layer with the base color of each part of the body such as the hat, the red cloths, the straps, the hook, and the shield, and then later apply a layer of clipping mask and be able to paint comfortably without leaving the figure of each element.
As you can see as I go along, you can see more volume in the muscles thanks to the shadows, I also added a couple of scars as a reference of marks of past battles that the character has had, and you can also see how each element of the clothing is coming to life in the process.
Already with the character completely painted, I proceeded to make the landscape, which I imagined him disembarking near a coast, with the silhouette of a ship in the distance accompanied by mountains and a large and thick fog, to give a touch of mystery, also add the tattoo, and enhance the shaggy hair on the back, to the belt I added an ornament of some horns with a bright blue diamond, I also painted a little fog in front of the character to have continuity with the scenery, finally I placed a blue light that comes out of the eyes of this character, thank you very much for taking the time to read my post and have a great day.
