INTRO
The last few days I have been playing with old ideas for a unique bug world. I have always had a fascination with the diversity of bugs and small creatures in general. As a kid, I used to stare at ants trying to understand their inner political structure. Hours and hours would go by... Weird as ****, I know, I know.
Still, I never truly understood these lovely little creatures. Their world seldom collided with mine, although I am sure that mine disturbed theirs time and time again. I used to feel sorry for the chaos I brought just by walking.
But how could I really understand them? How could I rid myself of the tainted human perspective?
Bugs do not indulge in politics. Do they?
Bugs do not stand up for their individual causes? Do they?
Bugs do not care?
They live, they thrive. They are certainly deliberate in their approach, and they certainly do care...
Exploring many different ways to create art "in collaboration with AI" has led me to create an imaginary but VERY REAL world. Let me show you a rough draft of Arachanum.
ARACHANUM
The bugs of Arachanum have undergone a remarkable evolutionary leap, surpassing the prominence of humans.
Through an integration of metals and technology directly into their evolutionary process, these bugs have transformed into steampunk creations; their biological exoskeletons merged with advanced technologies such as nanobots, neural interfaces, and quantum processors.
The harmony between the natural world and technology is undeniable, as variety of technologies are merged with DNA and strategically utilized by the bugs to their advantage. Traditional, non-robotic bugs (mere insects) have nearly vanished, making way for the rise of futuristic, metallic creatures that now reign as the rulers of Arachanum.
Importantly, the bugs have also harnessed the power of magic from other universes, weaving it into their technological marvels, although their understanding of this mystical force remains incomplete.
3 DISTINCT RACES
HUX
The Wuweavers are led by a dominant and authoritative leader known as Hux The Spider. Hux, a visionary inventor, has centralized power, making decisions for the entire race. The society is structured hierarchically, with Hux's directives guiding the technological advancements and expansionist goals of the Wuweavers.
However, Hux as a sole leader is not quite in total control due to the existence of a certain anonymous group of ten. This group needs at least 9 out of 10 votes to exterminate him on the spot, without any sort of repurcussion.
NAME TBD
The Xeclaws embrace a unique almost democratic system where decisions are made collectively. The political terrain is molded by a system that places a premium on knowledge and intellect, fostering a more nuanced and well-informed approach to decision-making. The emphasis on intellect not only leads to informed decisions but also fosters a culture of innovation and progress.
And Peace!
Ironically, they are fighting a never-ending battle for just that - peace.
NAME TBD
The Jolspinners have adopted a decentralized and anarchist structure, rejecting centralized authority in any shape or form. With no designated leader, decisions are made collectively by the community or rather - they are not made.
The emphasis is on individual freedom, and therefore each Jolspinner is encouraged to find his own way. This fluid travelling society allows for adaptability and flexibility in their pursuits.
Through constant and unlimited experimentation with technology, they were the first to harness otherworldly magic.
