The familiarity of this card drew me especially to it and I fortunately had an idea I wanted to explore. The perfect reference was also coincidentally at my disposal and all I had to do was manipulate it. The choice of color on this sketch unlike previous ones was not something I took a lot of time to plan.
the lineart was what i made sure to map out and I did this as usual with my blue pen. I made sure to take features from both my reference and the card I wanted to make an impression of..
I drew the eye which I especially had fun doing. The red which was reasonably important was the part I loved most..
I got carried away with the drawing and would've forgotten to take a snap if not for the reminder I got. The hair parting his back in this sketch is a little more spread-out.
I took the initiative of drawing the nose and teeth to my taste and I used red to line out the inner part of his ear as you can see. I personally like the shading of his nose..
...after doing that I decided to move to the patchment he wrapped around himself..
moving on I made firm the parts I felt needed more reassurance..
and here you have the drawing complete, the ready villain
The materials I used while making this sketch are blue, black and red pens from two brands: BIC and SCHNEIDER
