Hey everyone! Welcome to another post in my pixel art series!
Today, I want to share a bit about the idea behind my latest artwork, but let’s start from the beginning.
When my girlfriend and I flew to visit my mom in Iceland, I was instantly filled with inspiration.
I felt so energized and excited to create! My mom, being the awesome mom she is, suggested that I stick to certain themes or series in my art, so here I am, presenting you with another piece from my landscape series.
This time, I decided to dive into an urban landscape, which was inspired by my trip to Tokyo and Kyoto about a year ago. That trip was incredible—a real cultural shock in the best way possible. The food, the culture, the architecture—it all planted a deep love and appreciation for that part of the world in me. So today, I want to share a little piece of that vibe with you all. I really hope you’ll enjoy this piece and that it’ll be received positively! 😊
Now, a few details about the artwork itself. It features an orange bear I’ve named Kuma (熊, which means "bear" in Japanese). Kuma runs a small shop where he sells fresh and fried fish. I tried to capture the vibe of an evening in Tokyo, especially in the quieter, less crowded streets. Recreating that atmosphere wasn’t easy, especially with my limited drawing skills, but I gave it my best shot!
Let me know what you think! Do you like it? Or do you have any suggestions on what I could improve or consider for my future pieces?
Sending warm vibes and lots of love, take care, everyone! 😊
