Today I moved my hand at the speed of light.
Hi again friends, for me, this is the second post I'm making today, and it's because I wanted to participate in the weekly Splinterlands art contest and had to draw very quickly to make it on time. So yes, this is one of the digital drawings I've done the fastest, and most importantly, with a good finish.
Today, I didn't want to paint human skin, so I started looking for characters with colorful skins, and Splinterlands is full of them, so I went for the Rebellion Cards folio and chose Prunda Undervesch, a life and water summoner, who turned out to be a more skilled and powerful runemancer than expected when recruited.

-Step 1:
As usual, I started by sketching the character. This time, I placed them directly in front of the camera, intending to show them up close alongside a demonstration of their magic and power. Although I spent some time playing with the position of their left hand, which holds the flower-shaped staff, as I wanted the flower to point towards the camera, it caused the rest of the arm to disappear. I tried several positions, but this one was the most dynamic, even though the arm disappears before reaching the bicep.
-Step 2:
Since there was no time to waste, I used the pen tool to fill in the character's shape, dividing each of the elements that make up the character into different layers. I usually mention this in almost every post I make, but the purpose of dividing each element into different layers is to use the layer lock option and thus be able to paint each element separately.
-Step 3:
My main focus of attention was the Runemancer's face. I was using a reference image for this, but I was also shaping the character's original features, with her pronounced cheekbones and sunken cheeks. I also worked on her clothing, giving it a robust appearance with shiny areas.
-Step 4:
The background was worked on discreetly, or rather with very light colors that blend together. Since she is supposed to live at the bottom of the sea, but I didn't want everything around her to be blue, I opted for white, and it looked pretty good, although I tried to make some algae and they ended up looking like tree leaves.
-Step 5:
And as always, I left the powers for the end. In this case, I searched for a reference photo of a lotus flower and built the tip of her staff with it, then released the power from there to wrap around her right hand. I also applied a radial blur filter with the "zoom" option to give more power to the scene and direct all attention to Pundra's face.
I will leave you a GIF with the whole process on it, so you can better appreciate the illustration process.
See you in a future post!
