For this contest, I chose Wila (Apostate of Darkness) EXT to draw in my art style.

Art Process

First to have a rough sketch of the character's pose. I was thinking of a neutral expression this time. The horn hair is interesting, hehe. Usually, I drew those space bun hair style. A unique feature for this card. Next is to put a colored backgroudn for now as it will be needed on the coloring part. I used a solid brush for the lineart.

Since I put a colored background, it is easier to identify where the hair color bled. I colored each part in different layers. Here, I started working on the eyes. On a clipped layer, I added the pink strands of hair. I began rendering the breast plate, which is a hard subject for me as I am not a fan of armor, hehe. I used a soft airbrush for more of the shadowing.

More shadowing detailing on the skin using a darker shade of skin color. I added some reflecting lights on the breastplate to look 3D. I used the flat brush and smudge brush to get the blurred-out shine.

Final Art

Since she is the apostate of darkness, I thought of putting a dark forest on the background with the illuminating moon. I used a tree brush that can be downloaded on the store. I used a glitter brush for the glowing dots. Lastly, masking the art with a textured brush.
