My chosen card for this week is Byzantine Kitty 🐈😍

Here is my art process! 😁

Art Process

Start with doing the rough sketch. I do not draw animals often especially the furry ones, that is why I avoid them hehe. But this time, I want to familiarize myself with how to draw furry friends.

I worked on the eyes first. Byzantine's eyes are very specific! Looks like an anime eye to me. 😁 It has stars and dots just like when a character is delighted. I just copy-pasted the other eye to save time. I adjusted some elements to keep the eye proportionate. I used a solid brush for the line art and used different weights of lines.

The kitty is white but I chose an off-white cream color for the fur. Noticed that there is a difference in the shade of flat white in the background.

I then added layers clipped on the base color for the shadows. I used an airbrush and blur brush to soften the hard edges. For the wings, I used a green color in color dodge mode.

I then scattered dots of yellow, just like fireflies. 😊

Final Art

I added glow on the dots and airbrushed some green color to the cat's fur as the reflection of the lights. I chose a dark green background color and an airbrush darker shade in the corners. Lastly, added a noise texture and set it to 10% opacity.
