Happy Friyay~
Just an update on where I am now in my art journey. So, I mentioned here before that I was looking at what style should I pursue. I think I narrowed down my choices. Right now, I am enjoying the anime style and manhwa style. š I still have a lot to polish, but definitely I am enjoying this art style. Probably because I grew up watching a lot of anime, and up until today. š
For today's entry, I chose Angel of Light! It is my first time drawing a Splinterlands character with wings (besides from chibi style). This character reminds me of Oh! My Goddess.

Concept and Sketching
I first roughly sketch what would be the position of the character. This time, it will be like a 3/4 portrait. The expression is somewhat looking from afar. I do not really mind the expression in the sketch stage because for sure it will change in the process (which most of the time happens). The character's clothing is a simple white cloth and a black choker. I want to focus more on the wings. This will be brutal work. Now I regret why I chose this character, haha! š¤£ The gesture will be just a closed fist on the chest. Ack~ I forgot that she's got a pointy ear here, but worry not because I will edit it~
Flat color and Shading
I chose colors that are less saturated compared to the original art so that I can layer them later with lighter shades. The orange hair reminds me of a character from Bleach named Kurosaki Ichigo~ I used the bucket paint tool to make the process faster. Then, for the corners, I used the Enclose and Fill feature.
For the shading, I am thinking of making half of the dark a little dark, and then on the side of the hair is where the source of light is. I am still working on my light source and shading skill. Little by little! I then put black shades to the corner part of the right wing. Also, to half of the hair, ears, hand, and neck.
Drawing the feathers one by one is freaking tiring haha lemme tell you~ š¤£
The Details and the Light!
Okay, the wings were freaking eating my time here, haha! I drew the details on the feather one by one. Ugh, I got no choice but to draw it~ Thanks to Spotify accompanying me in this pain. š¤£ Plus, I have to draw the shadows too for the feathers.
As I said earlier, the source of light will be on the left side of her hair, thus trying this angelic vibe. I put the light on the corner of the hair, wings, neck, and on shoulder. Notice that I also put some on the eyes, hands, and cheeks.
Instead of a dark orange shade for the hair, I chose a green undertone, with a little yellow tone. Since in the original art, the character's eyes are closed, I just chose a green color for the eyes to complement the orange hair. I was choosing between blue and green, though.
Final Art~
I use the liquify tool to fix some lines especially on the chin and side of the face. I blurred out the eye and the left wing a bit, hehe! I put some details of hair strands on the bangs and on the left part of the hair. Using Clip Studio Asset, I downloaded a feather brush. Added a new layer and set it to Add Glow.
Honestly, the wings are painful. š¤£
Tadaaa~ Done!
