Today's post is inspired by the Splinterlands card game, where I chose one of the many cards of this game to make my artistic work today, with which I am also participating in the Splinterland Art Contest Week #268, which you can find here.

For this drawing I was inspired by one of the fiercest animals that ever inhabited our planet: a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Even though this extinct one wished millions of years ago, it is still appealing to us. This dinosaur was one of the biggest predators that ever existed 🦖.

Mi publicación de hoy está inspirada en el juego de cartas de Splinterlands, dónde escogí una de las tantas cartas de este juego para realizar mi trabajo artístico de hoy, con el que además estoy de mi participando en el Concurso de Arte Semanal de Splinterland, #268, el que pueden encontrar aquí.

Para realizar este dibujo me inspire en uno de los animales más feroces que han habitado nuestro planeta: un Tiranosaurio Rex. Aunque este extinto desee hace millones de años, sigue resultándonos atrayente. Este dinosaurio fue uno de los mayores depredadores que hayan existido 🦖.

For my drawing I used a white sheet of size letter paper, (21.6 x 27.9 cm), black pencil, black ballpoint pen and coloring pencils. What I most enjoyed drawing was his big jaws full of sharp fangs. I started with a sketch and little by little I drew all the details, until I had the dinosaur drawing just the way I wanted it.

Para mí dibujo utilicé una hoja de papel blanco tamaño carta, (21.6 x 27.9 cm), lápiz negro, bolígrafo negro y lápices de colorear. Lo que más disfruté dibujando fue sus grandes fauces llena de afilados colmillos. Comencé realizando un boceto y poco a poco fue dibujando todos los detalles, hasta tener el dibujo del dinosaurio tal como lo quería.

This time I wanted to do something different, and I remembered that when I was a little girl in school we were taught a subject called Plastic Arts, where we were taught different artistic techniques. One of them consisted of making a collage with scraps of magazines, or colored sheets, which were torn or cut and pasted on the drawing to fill it. I liked that a lot, the final result was very nice, and the texture of the drawing changed completely. And that's what I tried to recreate in today's Rexxie 🎨.

I chose a sheet of a magazine with green and brown tones, as close as possible to the color of the dinosaur, I cut the sheet into small strips and glued them to the drawing. At the end I drew the blank spaces to fill them with color with green and brown pencil. I show you the process to obtain the final result.

Esta vez quería hacer algo diferente, y recordé que de pequeña en la escuela nos daban una asignatura que se llamaba Artes Plásticas, dónde nos enseñaban diferentes técnicas artísticas. Una de ellas consistía en hacer un collage con retazos de revistas, u hojas de colores, las que se rasgaban o recortaban y se pegaban en el dibujo para irlo rellenando. Eso me gustaba mucho, el resultado final era muy bonito, y la textura del dibujo cambiaba completamente. Y fue lo que traté de recrear en este Rexxie de hoy 🎨.

Escogí la hoja de una revista que tuviera tonalidades verdes y marrones, lo más parecidas al color del dinosaurio, fui recortando la hoja en tiras pequeñas y pegándolas al dibujo. Al finalizar fui dibujando los espacios en blanco para rellenarlos de color con lápiz verde y carmelita. Les muestro el proceso hasta obtener el resultado final.

When I finished I felt very satisfie, and I enjoyed remembering my student years. I hope you like my finished work.

Al terminar me sentí muy satisfecha, y disfruté recordando mis años de estudiante. Espero que les guste mi obra terminada.
