Yoooo!
I've always been hearing and coming across the Splinterlands Art Contest but I was never opportunute to participate, I was still trying to get the hang of it and I guess I am ready to jump onto the trend and do as others lol.
So going through the Spinterlands card as it is mentioned in their contest post, the Divine Healer card was what inspired me and having come across a piece from a fellow artist, I was even more excited about my work and drawing the Divine Healer.
If I had all the time, I would go further to explain why I chose this card to be my very first participation but time wouldn't permit me as I am battling with other offline tasks to tell lengthy online story, so pardon me.
Today I will show you guys my steps to achieving this beautiful healer I have here.
Step By Step
One of my favourite part of drawing is the lineart.
Without a perfect or good lineart, your piece might just come off or not so good.
So to determine the end result of your work, your lineart says a lot.
So here is how I started my piece, with a lineart
I went further to paint the base colours. I started with her skin and then the healer's dress.
I further painted the base color, the dress still, picking the colours from the reference card I had with me
Here I went ahead to paint the hair base color.
I chose a lighter purple color for this part, I didn't wanna use the normal white colour I found, although the card had a touch of light purple so I decided to go with that.
After the hair base color, I worked on the braids, I wanted the two strands braids so I achieved just that
Okay! So here I fixed the eyes, the brow and of course the lips too.
The beauty was already coming out at this point :)
This step is when I started leaving highlights on the healer's dress, here and there to leave a remarkable shades.
And finally, I fine tuned everything I wanted to have in the sketch, from light highlights on the healer's face to the shadow shading on her eyes and then leaving highlights on her hair too
And even went further to increase the contrast and color of her hair and skin as I realized the colour was rather too dull on her.
And that finishes the steps I have for my work today.
I do hope you like my Artwork.
This is my entry to the @splinterlands Art Contest week 292
