Hi everybody! How are you? My entry for this week is kind of a change for me, I decided to draw a male character this time I was supposed to choose a water character but I changed my mind, maybe next week I will. LOL
We are going on a trip later so I am trying to finish this blog as soon as possible our call time is at 4 in the morning, pray for me that I can sleep before that time, or I'll just sleep on the way or not. There has been no time I sleep early since last year.
For my entry this week I chose Gobalano Soldier because I want simple this time and a male character I am testing the water, and I realized since I joined the challenge I only drew female characters which is not new to me.
The Process:
For this week's line art, I just wanted it to be as simple as possible to avoid any errors later when I render it. The error makes me lose my mind sometimes and my graphic tablet working surface scratch getting worse so my patience is high right now. LOL.
I discovered an artist who used the drawing program I used and she shared her favorite brushes I like it so the brush I use for this entry saves me a lot of time rendering. Adding the base colors first is just what I automatically do. Adding a gray background helps me too.
The next process is I render the skin first adding the first layer of shadow with different shades of red-orange and pink. This time I focused on each part to render first.
Next, I rendered and added a shadow to the inner clothes first. This steps I always do whenever I render clothes inner clothes first before the outer clothes. I prefer that way LOL.
Next, I added a shadow to the slacks at first it looked like a disaster but when I added details to it later it looked like decent slacks. Just trust the process.
Next, I added a background I wanted a street chill gangter vibe just chillin' in the dark alley. At first, I thought it would not work out but it did the justice. This part of the process is still on its way to be more detailed so, as I progress with the rendering I can see what part is lacking on something.
Next, I added more detail on each part when I see something lacking I just go back to that layer to fix it, thank you to the person who made the layer on the digital program, saves many artists like me who a messy at rendering.
For the final process, I added simple "graffiti" which doesn't look like LOL made by me. And then to look more like a street alley I added a light ray above him that reflected to him.
