Creative Process
“Blodeuwedd” began with a deep dive into Celtic mythology and I found this Goddess who essentially has transformation and duality. Known as the flower maiden, she caught my attention.
I began by imagining a piece that embodied Blodeuwedd's mystical qualities with a focus on symmetry and multidimensional transformation to reflect her dual nature, her creation from flowers and her transformation into an owl.
I used my tools to create a rough visualization and played with floral patterns and nature combining aspects of Blodeuwedd's history with their faces.
Imagined a forest at night and the lighting on the leaves and textures in a totem shape where the third eye would begin creation and transformation.
Using overlapping and blending of the elements with the central faces to look for symmetry and I adjusted the colors and brightness to convey the feeling of a state of meditation and a spiritual transformation with an ethereal light source to have a feeling of depth and multi-dimension.
In the end, I believe I achieved the goal of evoking a certain emotion for the mythological roots of the Goddess Blodeuwedd and I hope that you can reflect on connections between humanity and the natural and spiritual world with elements of this ancient tradition but with a more modern aesthetic.
“Blodeuwedd” começou com um mergulho profundo na mitologia celta e encontrei essa Deusa que tem em essência a transformação e a dualidade. Conhecida como a donzela das flores, me chamou atenção.
Comecei imaginando uma peça que incorporasse as qualidades místicas de Blodeuwedd com foco em simetria e na transformação multidimensional para refletir sua natureza dupla, sua criação a partir de flores e sua transformação em uma coruja.
Usei minhas ferramentas para criar uma visualização aproximada e fui brincando com padrões florais e natureza combinando com suas faces sempre em mente os aspectos da história de Blodeuwedd.
Imaginei uma floresta durante a noite e a iluminação nas folhas e texturas em um formato de totem onde o terceiro olho iniciaria a criação e transformação.
Usei de sobreposição e mesclagem dos elementos com os rostos centrais para procurando simetria e fui ajustando as cores e brilhos para transmitir a sensação de estado de meditação e de uma transformação espiritual com uma uma fonte de luz etérea para ter uma sensação de profundidade e multi dimensão.
Ao final, creio que alcancei o objetivo de evocar uma certa emoção para as raízes mitológicas da Deusa Blodeuwedd e espero que você possa refletir sobre conexões entre a humanidade e o mundo natural e espiritual com os elementos dessa tradição antiga mas com uma estética mais moderna.
